HOLY SHIT @ Post Above. talk about eye rapage.
btw TLDR, I read the 1st line and all i got was "QQ locks are op". L2pDruid.
OMG that second post...
A warlock is a lot more methodical whereas a shaman is just nukefest. Whichever he prefers more.

Long reply incoming, but I feel is justified.
Not the sort to bring up the TL;DR or similar, but that most certainly was difficult to read and the part of it I did persist through seemed to be complaining about fear, with the same points being made repeatedly.
Fear is if anything the most protected against CC in the game.
Take fear ward, BM hunters, warriors, will of the forsaken, lichborne to name but a few.
Yes it does allow you to take some degree of damage while CC'd but it is by no means the only one to do that, since stuns most notably stunlocks from rogues are particularly effective there so forcing you to if you have no defensive counter avalable to hope you can survive through the damage. Fear will break on a damage threshold, while a stun will not.
Banish as a CC in pvp which is another you complain about can hit a total or 2 potential types of targets, yes only 2. Demons and Elementals. That consists of either 2 of the 30 potential player specs, the resto druid and only when they are in tree form and meta warlocks again only when in that form, warlock minions and the elementals from a mage or to a lesser requirement from shaman totems.
Other equally spammable CC's notably polymorph and cyclone did not even get a mention, so it is obvious that you have something against that particular mechanism with no intent to provide any sort of coherent arguement.
Cyclone is capable of the same effect as banish, but can hit a greater variety of targets, while polymorph while not allowing damage to be taken is less protected against by most classes, but does not result in having to chase said target across an area should the intention be to remain within range or LoS of it.

Ignorant people should stfu, a shaman is just nukefest? that clearly depends on the situation, in a 5v5 with blessing of protection, oh yes, fucking nukefestOriginally Posted by venom1234
2v2 and 3v3, not so much, as everyone just hug the shaman until he bends over and die.
In 1v1 or BG situations a warlock is much more dangerous.
An ele shaman lives and dies by his ability to create momentum to nuke his opponent, an affliction warlock does steady damage with no effort required.
Go play an affliction warlock. If you are ever not casting something you are dead in seconds. Everyone is always like "LOLFEAR LOLOLOL OP BECAUSE IT'S LIKE SHEEP BUT CAN TAKE DAMAGE LOL" There's a reason for the way it works. The only escape a warlock has is his portal, and if he's already on the defensive with a void walker up (aka no cc from pet, no defensive/offensive dispel, and no CC) then he CAN put up ONE shield. If the warlock is not in complete control of the fight he is dead, that's how it works, especially an affliction warlock. Shamans build up momentum for a kill, warlocks continue to keep the pressure and must be in control of the fight at all times until the opponent succumbs to DoT's.Originally Posted by Grievuuz

Warlock is IMO more difficult, because keeping rolling dots on one target is hard enough without dieing. It's pretty easy for most melees to 100->0 a lock in a fear/rooted behind pillar/healer sheep|mced/ etc after the pet is dead.
We have one escape, and it's a bad one at that {It has to be placed ahead of time}, laughingly weak armor, and our defensive cd bubble can be purged/dispeld/spell stolen, has a 1min CD, AND requires us to change pets.
Shaman is MUCH more fun in pvp IMO.

They are both pretty even. They both wreck the enemy if left alone and both suck monkey balls when being focused. Also they both have crappy defenses.
In 1v1 locks get facerolled by warriors, rogues and dks. Pretty much any melee except ret paladins and enhancement shamans ( though some locks say good enh shamans counter them completely )
An elem shaman is pretty much the same, except he can't beat any melee at all.
I only play melee classes and have no ideea how either class does against casters.
Not sure what to tell you but I'd recomend an afliction lock because it's better than a shaman but not monumentally better.
A tauren warrior once told me "You may have won the battle but you haven't won the battle". It was only a small portion of the Horde's wisdom.
imo a ele shaman is they have to purge always interupt always keep the right totems down all while trying to blow someone up. but the hardest part about them is staying alive they have one ability that can keep them alive for a few more seconds but after that its pretty much just lesser healing wave that crits for 5k.
I've dueled each of those classes multiple times as a destruction warlock and have to disagree with you. There's a lot you can do to counter their moves, especially with good pet management and well-timed cooldowns. Warlocks, like rogues and mages, control the flow of most duels, but must also respond to opponent decisions at times. If you master both these aspects, there is scarcely a class or opponent you shouldn't be able to beat.Originally Posted by Khano
