normally i hate these "sorta" posts with no real meaning.. but i GOTTA agree

all there is now in arena is OP setups (warr-Rdruid, afflock-Rdruid or equal) where one of em got about full wrathful and the other one got relentless..

and there am i.. a little furious rogue that got to 80 2 weeks ago.. QQ inc ;(
tho we got a full wrathful warrior with shadowmourne down to 5% ;D then they spammd all their CDs and we got 2 shoted but :P

those teams are still doable as the full furious is still fragile enough to go for.

I recently dinged 80 on my DK and manage to get 1800 with furious/wrathful offpiece gear quite easily. Gear is such a small factor in pvp.

They play for the same fun as going into battlegrounds with full 264/277 pve gear and critting people with 15k-20k casts while yelling "outplayed!" in vent. Not really for competition or rewards, just the fun of killing people.

You said it, it's not little gear handicap, it's HUGE, because of stupid PvE system that forced PvP to follow PvE item level. Even Relentless gear is nothing compared to Wrathful, but starting with Furious is really a nightmare.
I recently played some 2vs2 with an enhancement shaman friend of mine (with me being holy paladin) to get 1.8k rating, neither of us had done any arena since season 5, and we aren't in hardcore PvE anymore either. This friend of mine uses to check armory for every single team we meet: there wasn't a single team we lost against who didn't outgear us by a large amount (and I won't spend words about their setups - 50% of teams had resto druids, 40% had rogues). Wasn't just the best gear obtainable on that rating: there were plenty teams with full wrathful and level 277 weapons. Not talking about boosting teams with an undergeared member either. And such baddies you have no idea, boosted by gear and team setup. Well, we made it of course, and were good laughts at baddies that prolly come and troll MMO forums just because they get boosted by OP setups but can't really play. Most times after a match we were like: how can they suck so much to play on this rating with that kinda gear?
Can barely remember two or three matches (since we started up to 1.8k) where we got outplayed - by OP setups, of course, but was a rare pleasure to meet someone who could actually play.

Disagree with OP... just spend like 3 weeks getting 2-3 relentless plus wrathful offset and maybe a VoA drop and you can hit 1800 easily. And you can do it in full furious if you know what you're doing, my 3s team is me (arms) a feral and a hpal, the hpal has full furious with relentless offset, me and the druid are relentless mixed with furious set wrathful offset and we've been fine up past 2k.

Disagree with OP... just spend like 3 weeks getting 2-3 relentless plus wrathful offset and maybe a VoA drop and you can hit 1800 easily. And you can do it in full furious if you know what you're doing, my 3s team is me (arms) a feral and a hpal, the hpal has full furious with relentless offset, me and the druid are relentless mixed with furious set wrathful offset and we've been fine up past 2k.
