Disc - HPS

I am getting some shit from my guildies about my HPS in Disc as i spend alot of my time in a 25 man raid using shields and the occasional Penance/PoM/Renew. I am wondering if they are right and i should use PoH/Flash heal alot more to imrove HPS > Absorbs or am i fine with shielding almost every GCD. I am the only disc priest in the raid and if u need a boss to use as an example use HM PP 25.

I'd say keep shielding. On my recount/skada I always have a window open with that shows healing done. With the tab "healing" open I'm always on the bottom, worst healing. If I change to Absorbs and healing, I'm on top. Disco priest is more like avoid damage, rather shield than heavy healing through the damage.

Yes i know that :P im always up top as well (WOL if wanted) I just want to know which is the best way to be the best you know lots of shields or some shields + direct heals?

Just download Skada and slap them with the Absorbs\healing meters if they start complaining.

Well I do that as well but GM says im shit coz i get out healed by Spriests and what not. I have Skada but i gave up linking it coz they are just like blah blah shield spam blah blah

Well I do that as well but GM says im shit coz i get out healed by Spriests and what not. I have Skada but i gave up linking it coz they are just like blah blah shield spam fagot blah blah

tell your gm that he is an idiot and leave to a guild that does know how op disc priests are when shield spamming
last time annyone said annything about my healing i linked him the prof P hc meter (25) and showed him my 30% of all healing done score on 6 healer setup
shield spam is the way forward

easy , link them the absorb + healing meter , and show them the real position your at
stil being assholes about your healing ? then sorry but no other thing you can do ^^

so true i do know a guild who done it without disc , but it changes so much 1 disc can do the job of 2 healers on that fight alone , and on manny manny others

My guild is just infront of LK 25 hc and we are doing it with 2 Disc priest, one day i wasn't there and so they only had 1 disc and they just couldn't outheal it.

so why do you use a second one ?

One priest gets picked up by valkyrs, others ready to roll out the shields. One priest has to move alot from a defile and gets out of range of the people he has to shield, others there to roll them out. Its just safer with 2, and with the 25% buff enrage should no longer be a problem.

i am the only disc in the guild , due to the fact i never miss raids and my server is hopeless for disc priests ^^
we have a grand total of 4-5 priests who have a clue about the whole spec , and the rest is either pvping or has gone holy cause some people stil think that disc are tank healers

I wonder if they complained back in the day when a ret pally's judgement of light would beat out all the healers' healing on some fights?

Some people are just clueless about functional class mechanics / design. Disc priests lack the effective throughput in restorative healing mechanics, but excel in absorbs. Promise them you'll do more actual healing on any fight where a holy pally does more absorbs...

2 disc priests is fine in LK25HC if you're 6 healing it.

Just pull up parses from world of logs and that will shut up all 24 of them. All top guilds should understand the importance of absorbs and why all healers prefer proactive healing vice reactive healing. This is one of the reasons why overhealing numbers are so high in wrath because we have to pre-hot / shield everyone just to keep up with the raid damage.

In a 25 man you really don't have time to do anything else other than spam shields since even throwing a Pom can set you behind and make the difference if your raid will succeed or fails. Really though, other than the Shield glyph the best advice I have seen is to leave that guild for one that respects their healers.

90% (no really 90% i didn't just pick a number) as disc should come from glyph of PWS, the actual PWS and divine aegis. absorbs show up on world of logs so I'm not sure how your guild is giving you shit about it.

like 10-15% of your heals should be from penance/flash/poh... the rest is pom and shield spam

If I'd ever had to go Disc, I would be solo discing it, so annoying and boring doing it with 2.
