It might sound a bit crazy / far fetched / useless / stupid but imo anything that can split damage on that green ooze is worthwhile. I hope you all put your pets on the green add, get DK's army out etc...

possibly... but as much as I expect that, I could also expect a
"using-this-causes-you-to-act-and-react-and-use-a-GCD-therefore-its-fine" type of answer.
You never know, they might just be swamped with Cata.

I woulnd't bother. Even at 0% p1 and p2 were not an issue. Just tell your raid to actually stack up and there won't be any issues. If you really need mitigation, have one of your hunters glyph of Snake Trap. They attack PP so you'll need to drag him to the ooze but they will absorb some of the damage.
