Rend isn't really worth using at all, B&T is pretty lackluster. I just TClap, shockwave, cleave on CD and hit SS/Revenge on CD and hit devastate if there isn't anything else to hit.

For single target I prioritize Shield Slam > Revenge > HS > Devastate, while hitting Shield block on CD, although devastate might actually be significant threat now and I may be doing it wrong.

today on my mage in HoL a warrior told all of us not to attack loken for 6sec...ok we all wait 6sec
once i start my arcane rotation by the 4stack of arcane blast i had out threat the prot warrior and granted he had a six sec head start on threat. and yes he was icc 25 geared

DPS are supposed to have to watch their threat now. That's the entire point, and exactly what Blizzard intended. See my original post: unless DPS are being shitheads, it's fine.

i total understand that dps should watch there threat...but come on /sigh i cant even finish a simple rotation with out out TPS a prot warrior....so i say call it for what it is broken at the moment and stop blaming dps

Don't bother with Rend, it's total garbage for Prot Warriors right now. It was nerfed in damage when they removed Armed to the Teeth from us causing us to lose TONS of AP (Rend's damage is based on AP).

Start with TC, Shockwave then if mobs are still alive you can rend and TC again.

Hmm... pretty sure when it says public TEST realm, it means they aren't done with it yet. I'm sure if there are threat problems, Blizz will work them out before 4.0 actually hits.

what threat bonus gives you defensive stance in a spell book?
cause in a last patch blizz changed threat coef. from 40% to 100% in a def. stance that should solve your problem.

First of all. Damage numbers on the PTR from casters and hunters are incredibly high. They are not final. Why are you even concerned with damage at the moment? The current PTR is supposed to fish out bugs with the UI, talents, glyphs, and now the twilight cultist opening quests for cata. They will get around to balancing damage when they have asserted that all the mechanical and UI related bugs are taken care of.

The least you could do is actually visit the wow forums and read the stickies on PTR builds before you go through the trouble of installing/copying characters over you are only going to test duels with.

Definitely NOT before the "patch" part of that process. Ripping your pants when it is still in testing phase certainly isn't very productive.

well of course you can argue and say "it's PTR so don't panic". but the thing that might people really concern is the fact that we're actually downloading a shitload of gigs right now from the patch on live servers ...thus tanks might be concerned whether their problem is a bug based problem, and if so is it fixed yet? and if not ..well that's playerskill then.

but look, if threat is broken on PTR and blizzard is providing the patchfiles to download right now, who ensures that threat, when the patch hits live servers, is fixed?

On the other hand ...threat isn't a problem at all. Just tank in dps gear and you're fine :P but make sure to get the double amount of healers you're used to take with ya
