Do you think that the lack of a gay NPC actually has the effect that the post says?

So, uh, how do you know that none of the numerous NPCs that populate Azeroth aren't gay?
Also sexuality in a video game is a retarded thing. No one cares if they prefer the taste of men or women. They are going to be dead in a few seconds so does it actually matter?
I'm gay and I agree with this. But I know theres gonna be the same crap on this thread about how 'gays have no place in wow, even though they profess to having straight relationships in your face'.
"The beginning of wisdom is the statement 'I do not know.' The person who cannot make that statement is one who will never learn anything. And I have prided myself on my ability to learn."
I honestly don't think it would have any effect other than turning those characters into jokes.
I bet you some of those guys who never say anything are gay
First let me say I am a strong supported of any sexual orientation anyone wants to be.
But ummmmmm no.
Sorry, this is a fantasy game. We do not need representation of every sexual orientation/race/religion/anything. Blizz can make any NPCs they want and should not feel obligated to make any just because someone feeles "under-represented"
I have no problem with gays having rights in real life. but this is where i draw the line. Don't impose your beliefs on other people please.
Right, but it costs them nothing to through in a token gay NPC even. Why do fantasy worlds have be filled with exclusively heterosexual characters?
Let them add a Serbian NPC so I can be represented.
BfA Beta Time
Im not saying gays have a place in wow, but i kinda support the idea of how they didnt put it in. Just because the didnt doesnt mean they have anything against them, and neither do i persoanlly (im just not too comfortable about it and i would be lying if i said i didnt think it was a little wierd).
Pretty funny if you ask me, I wont lie, I've had very homosexual encounters in my life, and I dont regret any of it. But it seems to me like any minority of any kind is always trying to get their foot in the door of something. But to me; If you're REALLY serious about LGBT issues, you wouldn't really care weather or not a video game has homesexual NPC's... SERIOUSLY!
NEWS FLASH: there are tens of thousands of homosexual WoW players, and I honestly dont think blizzard would ban them for it if they found out... nothing about wow is oppressive to homosexuals so stfu IMO
btw "heteronormative"? being heterosexual IS normal... deal with it.
EDIT: oh yeah, what about the blood elf racial leader? hes pretty gay huh?
Uhhhhh. A large portion of this game's playerbase is beyond immature. I'll just say that.
No one cares if you are gay. My little brother has Down Syndrome. Should I go: omfg there's no Down Syndrome children in WoW, they need Down Syndrome children because they are out there in the real world.
No. Get the fuck over yourselves. You are not important, you are not special. You just have a different sexual preference. Big fucking deal.
And if you want a gay NPC: learn to RP. Blizzard don’t make gay people because it is unnecessary.

so what your basicly saying is a fantasy game should only have hetrosexual references in it because thats your own? right..Sorry, this is a fantasy game. We do not need representation of every sexual orientation/race/religion/anything. Like I said, didn't take long for the same dribble to come in.
"The beginning of wisdom is the statement 'I do not know.' The person who cannot make that statement is one who will never learn anything. And I have prided myself on my ability to learn."
To be honest having a token character is more offensive than just not having one.
Nobody wants to be included on a team just because they are part of a minority, if Blizzard ever needs someone to be gay as part of a quest or a plotline then I'm sure they won't hesitate, but it's not like the other random NPCs run around shouting "I'm straight! I'm straight!"
Hell, most of the NPCs that talk could be gay, there's nothing to tell you what their sexual preference is, and isn't that better than having a camp, offensive stereotype? It's not like any of the NPCs have sex, just because someone doesn't feel the need to announce their sexual preference to everyone they meet doesn't mean that they aren't gay.
So theres....what? 5 NPC's with a stated sexual orientation?
This.
Video game companies tell stories with the characters they created. If you want to be a part of their creative processes, put in an application. I'm all for gays and other minorities having the same rights as anyone else, but they don't need to be represented in every piece of creative media.
