Mana or Focus?

I have played a hunter for a very long time now and i think that it worked better when hunter had mana and not focus. What do you think?

I voted for mana but it has been a very long time ago that I played my hunter seriously. I always liked the feel of mana though.

I played my hunter about a hour after the patch and I can't say I entirely like the idea of Focus. It feels too much like a rogue to me.. and I hate energy. Attack > Wait for Energy/Focus > Attack again.. boring. But we can Steady Shot when out of Focus I guess.

Exactly, in the end it is the same except without periods of doing terrible DPS.

Why mana?

Becuase you have a larger pool of energy so you just don't do one spell and then just wait for your energy to recharge. You get a better flow of attacks.

And you get periods of crappy damage when you are forced to change to Viper. Focus feels much better.

I did not like mana. It was a resource I had to pay almost no attention to.

You don't wait for your energy to recharge... you cast Steady Shot.

In the end, you have a rotation just like you would under mana. It's the same thing except instead of being limited by cooldowns, you're limited by Focus (and sometimes cooldowns, not always).

Mana never made any sense for Hunters anyway. They aren't spellcasters.

Mana for hunters never really made sense to me. I remember talking to my hunter buddy in AV back in Vanilla about how hunters should have energy like rogues. I think it just works better for the hunter class in general. Sure, its got a very different feel from mana, but I feel Blizz wanted to make rotations (or priorities) into something that focused more around resource usage and replenishment rather than just cranking out top dps then sitting there twiddling your thumbs while you get your mana back.

Yeah but it is the same with all classes that use mana take mages for an exampel, when they run out of mana they have to use evocation or use a mana gem and whilst doing that they can't dps. It is the same thing for all classes that use mana.

Focus of course, it seems to me like the people who prefer mana don't know how to manage focus yet, or they are bad at it and want to back back to the button spamming class we were before.

I am not saying that i am just saying that all classes that use mana have to recharge it in someway when they are oom.
