I rather do something that I enjoy fairly and earn alot of $$ and decent living that staying poor; being poor with low prospect is terrible and people only realize that too late.(I was planning on being elementary teacher at first)
That depends on what is important to you. And what is important to you is not necessarily important to others.

I used to work a well paid job that I didn't particularly love or hate. And then someone very dear to me became very ill, and I realized that I didn't give a shit about "things" any more. Now I have an incredibly rich life doing what I love, and I'm happier than I have ever been despite no longer earning what I once did.

I only wish I'd learned this lesson without the help of tragedy.

I fix computers part time. Going to school full-time for Computer Networking. Currently working at Arby's, it's fast food, but it pays so that I can go out...also not a stereotypical high-school drop out that you see at most fast food places.

I work at a privately owned used game store. You work for your shift, then you take your pay out of the till at the end of the day. No taxes, not even on the games.

Latest game we've released is "Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time" - available on numerous PC platforms including Steam, and soon available on Wii and PSN.
Totalbiscuit gave it a fun review, can take a look on YouTube, just search for "WTF is Doc Clock"
