Do you "ninja" gather?

So I have always been a courteous gatherer. I don't drop on a node and steal when some one is in combat.
I actually do something like /s you going to pick that? And if I get a response I fly on. Usually I get a whisper
a second later saying that was very nice and thanks. My priest is my herber and miner. I have enough fears
and fiends to usually dispense with any MoB long enough to gather the node before getting banged on and ninja'd.
But lately its getting harder and harder not to just be as cut throat as the rest of the douchebags on my server.
What goes around comes around I guess.

So my question is, do you take nodes that someone is clearly intent on gathering but dispensing with a MoB?
Do you race down and start hammering away in the hopes you made it a split second sooner?

Two people racing for the same node, fine. Jumping in to take a node that somebody else is working for, no way.

haha ofc I do, sometimes when I see we Are two who want the same node, I wait for the other dude to go in for it and draw agro from some mobs so i can take it and just move on to next node...

Courtesy is a nice thing, but in todays wow its outdated... u compete with underground miners and bots... all is fair in love and gathering

Yes and yes. I have always been really nice but after hundreds of herbs and nodes ninjaed away from me I just learned and adapt. Kill or be killed kinda. It's the same for mobs and daily quests in Tol Barad. No respect. But now and then you can still find nice players as well. Then again the problem maybe comes from my server.

Yep, I only ninja nodes from the opposite faction. If it's the same faction, I just look for another one.

I don't. Mainly because of the "don't do things to other people that you wouldn't want them to do to you"

I don't personally do it, but I do support it. If somebody does it to me I won't get mad. Part of gathering is learning how to get the node while avoiding mobs. If they didn't avoid the mob, then they made a mistake and deserve to lose the node if somebody comes along to get it.

I ninja gather if they are on the opposite faction. Otherwise I just go to the next one.

If I arrive at a node at the same time, it's fair game.
If it is someone of my faction, and they're in combat, I ask or wait to see if they gather.
If it is someone from the opposing faction, I try to nab it, whether they beat me there or not. Sometimes it works. Tauren racial ftw.
<.< Sometimes they get a little irritated with me and follow me and try to kill me but it's all good.

I will race someone and try to beat them to a node, but if someone is fighting a mob I will wait and see if they are fighting for the node or not. It is one thing to compete for something, it is another to take advantage of a situation.

If it's Horde (i play Horde), i dont do it, but if its alliance..well, yes. I mean, the whole Game is Horde vs Alliance, so its normal to take node's from them, they do the same xD

But on the other Hand not many ppl ask for it and steal within the Faction the node, guess you cant take it as granted as it should....

If the other person is a flagged horde. Then most defiantly yes.

If someone is fighting a mob near a node I'll let'm take it(unless I personally know them to be idiots), but if someone is flying above it and targeting me waiting for me to go in and agro mobs so they can take the node, I'll go in, agro mobs, they come in and I'll Shadowmeld/whatever, they get agro, I take node.

Sucks that there isn't a way to tag nodes if you're close to them and in combat tbh, but if they're going to be 'tards and try to take it and leave me fighting I'll let them do the fighting instead.

..Though I do love it when you're both heading towards a node, no one has clearly got it yet (both running/flying to it) then say you 'win' and the other person starts flaming you saying it was his when it obviously wasn't if he didn't get there in time. :3

I have 0 problems stealing a node from the other faction, or killing them to take it should they be flagged. Thats how the game goes. I will give same faction players every bit of respect they give me. If they ninja from me I'll ninja from them, if they are decent then I'll give them the respect they deserve.

My troll is a herbalist and I hate when taurens get to the herb like half a second AFTER me and still get the herb because they herb faster.
Although on my rogue I always sap the person and steal it if I can, so I guess I shouldn't be pissed at the taurens, hehe

If a Horde in combat yes I do it , it happens to me so its fair to do it to them ...

and more than that , when I see an alliance mining a nod I need , I simply ... kill him
