I live about 4 hours away from Boston and I have two sisters who live in the suburbs, I've visited Boston plenty of times, so I laughed when I saw this:
Putin khuliyo

It's due to Boston being an older city. Older cities tended to grow more organically.

Amsterdam was unique in that it wasn't built to keep people out, it was built to promote trade and invite people in.
Amsterdam also isn't comparable to New York or Boston.
Boston is an original settler's town, where the city grew organically. meanwhile, New York was originally built that way as well, but was radically reconstructed in the early 1800s to be more structured and invite trade.
Amsterdam was a medieval town that was later expanded to grow closer to the neighboring cities. other nations, like the US, explored, built cities and then connected them with roads, then built villages around those roads.
Sigh, I knew this would happen. Can we focus on the funny, please?

In all fairness:
Mountains rise in the distance stalwart as the stars, fading forever.
Roads ever weaving, soul ever seeking the hunter's mark.
