How does the raid lockout work exactly?

So here's the situation. I downed Shannox on Heroic and cleared the rest on Normal up to Domo. So even if my raid lockout is Heroic, can I join any other run that still has Domo and Rag up regardless if the other bosses were killed on Heroic/Normal? If so, does this mean I can't raid with any other group than the one of my lockout for the week?

Ooo not something I've really thought about, but I recently joined a raggy only group having done 6/7 hc on my guilds run and sat out for raggy. Now I don't know whether the group I joined was also 6/7 hc before raggy however but if not itll be fine.
