Finally got around to picking up the first two ohGr albums so...

7/10, Buckethead is very hit and miss in my opinion, this one's definitely a hit. Would have rated it a 8/10 but the first 2 minutes were a bit off-putting for me.

That one certainly wears it's influences on it's sleeve! 6/10, they certainly own that 70s blues rock and metal sound that Sabbath, Deep Purple and the others made a cornerstone of modern music, but it's lacking that unique spark.

7/10, it's certainly good, the riffs and songwriting are definitely there. I disagree that it's like we're back in the 90s though. The ferocity, the strength of their earlier albums like "Slaughter of the Soul" etc sounds lessened, it's like it tries to sound clinical/overly clean. It might be the production, but a definite giveaway are the vocals. "Safe" might be the proper word, a phenomenon that's more and more popular in modern melodic death metal. Anyway, I'm anxious for the new album, so far it sounds like the Carcass comeback album. Good, but very clinical.
