H:Maloriak 10 red phase Scorch Blast

    Hello everyone,

We are having some troubles when encountering the red phase of H:Maloriak 10, is that he sometimes cast three times Scorching Blast which seems a little bit unmanagable for us (we have only 1 disc priest and 1 holy paladin to cast damage reductions for 2 times).

We have noticed that sometimes at start, Maloriak only cast 1 Arcane Storm but 0 Release Aberrations and then go to the dark phase, and sometimes he will cast 1 Arcane Storm and 1 Release Aberrations and then go to the dark phase.

Also, when entering red phase, he sometimes cast 1 Release Aberrations and 0 Arcane Storm and starts his first Scorching Blast, in this case we usually end up with 3 Scorching Blast which ends up with a wipe. However if entering red phase, he casts 1 Arcane Storm and 1 Release Aberrations before casting Scorching Blast, there will usually be two Scorching Blasts only.

Is it all about luck or are there any tricks preventing him from casting three times of Scorching Blast in a red phase? (We tried not interrupting any Release Aberrations during red phase but just didn't work)

It's all about luck. If the first two ones come rather fast you can expect a third (and vice-versa). Healers will have to resort into dumping mana for quick healing and/or cooldowns, if people are above 80% hp they should be fine.

The fight is programmed oddly. All his timers for all of his abilities are constantly going off and resetting themself, but he doesn't actually use the abilities unless he is in the relevant phase. His timers reset once you've killed the vile swills, the idea is that you get this timer to reset about 18-12 seconds before the end of the Dark Phase.

His timers can be off otherwise and yes, he can do 3 scorching breaths if the last Vile Swill isn't killed in that window.

This is just my own theory I devised after noticing it on our attempts and noticing the differences between when he does do it and when he doesn't.
