    Lord Walden in Shadowfang Keep

So I've been doing a few HC Shadowfang Keep and on Lord Walden when he does his red mixture and you gain the debuff Toxic Catalyst I do not seem to get the 100% Critbuff that you should get (as in I'm not critting with everything). Am I misinterpreting what it does or is it bugged?

    Playing Firemage.

You should be critting every attac since the debuff will grant you 100% increased crit chance.

You need to move to get the debuff I think. Just don't keep moving, as it also damages you.

    Just to get this straight...

Is it MyCrit%+100Crit% or is it MyCrit%+MyCrit%? Gaining 100% can be both, but which is it? 100 added or double the current?

    added. definitely.

You need to be standing still to get the crit-chance buff.

Can it be that it is only melee-crit that gets the buff? Becuase my spells is definetly not critting 100%.

I never seem to get this crit chance either. It's very weird.

I'm currently signed up for SFK HC with my own firemage. Will let you know if I get it or not.

Don't take my word on it but i remember hearing somewhere that it is 100% of your crit added, As in, it doubles your crit rating. I guess it is either bugged or the tooltip is misleading.

    also, quote on wowwiki:
Note: Movement, or lack of, does not affect this debuff's damage.

The tooltip actually does exactly what it says it does. It increases crit chance by 100%. If your crit is at 10%, increasing it by 100% gives you 20%. If it was meant to give a 100% crit chance to the character, it would just say that.

Apply Aura: Mod Melee & Ranged Crit % (127)
    Value: 100

It increases your crit chance by 100%, aka making you crit with every attack.
Since it says "Melee & Ranged", i assume it doesn't increase Spell Crit chance.

All that aura is saying is the same thing as the tooltip. It increases your crit chance by 100%. You have to ask yourself, increases what by 100%? The answer is your own crit chance, whatever that may be. Increases crit chance by 100% =/= adds 100% to crit chance. Unless those auras use some different explanation of math, I don't think that auto-crit assumption is accurate.

My guildmates (DK and enhancement shaman) that I've been running with have crit on everything they do.. and I know that the DK has 5% basecrit.. so... either their EXTREMELY lucky or it adds 100%

Apply Aura: Mod Melee & Ranged Crit % (127)

For me, Ranged is Bow, Crossbow and Guns. Not spells. But English is my secondary language so i'm probs seeing it the wrong way, but if OP isn't getting any crits during the debuff i can only assume the debuff only works on melee & ranged weapons.
I play Melee myself so i haven't been able to test it. Let's wait for Ambrodel's results.

Actually, looking at the wording on Honor Among Thieves, I may be incorrect and the tooltip might simply need clarification. The rogue aura is worded the same way except it applies to all attacks rather than just ranged and melee.

    Exactly.

Apply Area Aura: Mod Crit Chance % - All

"All" obviously means everything, while Lord Walden's aura is Melee and Ranged (non-spell) attacks only.

Yeah, that definitely needs some tooltip clarification then, but it's good to have the comparison between effects.

My assumption, then, would be that they exclude spells because it's the easy way to make sure heals aren't OP for the duration of the buff. Seems like they could have coded it differently to exclude healing spells, but maybe it's a limitation of the aura system.
