Quick look at arms damage output with the recent buffs and nerfs to abilities (because I was curious after reading them).

For these purposes, I am assuming the target is level 85 and has 45% DR from armor (about 21000 armor). I'll be ignoring resilience, because it is just a flat damage reduction based on the individual character.

(If someone has an equation for armor for Cataclysm, a link would be greatly appreciated - obtained DR values by mix/matching gear to get close to armor value desired)
I am going to assume our base weapon damage is 2500 to calculate values for damage.

Current Output:
MS is 150% weapon damage +423 - 4173
OP is 125% weapon damage - 3125
LttS 30% MS - 5425
LttS 30% OP - 4063
Damage after Armor (45%) MS - 2984
Damage After Armor (45%) OP - 2234

PTR Output:
MS is 175% weapon damage +423 - 4798
OP is 125% weapon damage - 3750
LttS 30% MS - 6237
LttS 30% OP - 4875
Damage after Armor (45%) MS - 3431
Damage After Armor (45%) OP - 2681

Yea, this isn't elegant or 100% correct, but I was just trying to get some simple math pumped out so I can see what how our main abilities suffer during our CS uptime.

On Live with 100% armor bypass:
MS - 5425
OP - 4063

On PTR with 70% armor bypass:
MS - 5017
OP - 3921

This is assuming a target with 21,000 armor has approximately 45% physical DR and a target with 6300 armor has approximately 19.57% physical DR. As target armor increases, the damage during CS will decrease since armor does not scale linearly.

So during CS, MS damage is about 8% lower and OP is about 4% lower - so essentially they buffed non-CS damage output while only slightly hurting our burst when CS is up. I'm not a resilience kinda guy, so I just assume it provides a blanket DR after all this is calculated.

Hope this helps some with any possible QQ about arms CS burst being dead or anything like that.

As for fury, I can only /comfort you.

And hurray for rallying cry! - I BRING UTILITY TO A RAID NOW OMFG!
