New Archeology race added in 4.1?

This will be the thread to discuss any new information on the possibility of the new race being added to archeology in 4.1.

My thoughts are that they will add a new race for each of the next 3 major patches. There is currently a place holder for 1 new race, as well as 2 empty spots.

I think they will add a new one in 4.1, then another in 4.2 as well as 4.3.

    Any thoughts?

    One word: Murlocs.

I can't come up with anything that could be introduced as a new race (beside say, tauren or some other race ) the "placeholder" that you are referring to is just the regular archeology logo if I'm not completely mistaken.

    Hopefully we'll see some Tauren.

It's kind of retarded to think that one of the most indiginous races of Azeroth somehow don't have an archeology tree of there own.

I was thinking about the possible areas for the new races. Now that ZG and AQ 20 are open unused areas, they might use those? They could break down a wall to make people able to enter the area without a flying mount. If they did, both of those zones have thier own lore/race, no?

Qiraj archaeology is possible (Nerubian one is already in the game). As for ZG... Troll archaeology is already in the game. :P

Tauren! Maybe Furbolg or Centaur? Earthen too!

In outlands there are no sites in blasted lands. Maybe they could add an Ogre race? That could be a possible addition?

I'm hoping for Pandarean, in which we uncover what happened to the once mighty race.

Some pretty good ideas in this thread already... I just hope you're right and we get new Archaeology races every patch. Although, if it slows down my Tol'vir digging any, I'll choke someone.

I doubt it's a race like tauren, pandaren, centaur or anything like that.

It has a pickaxe, a shovel and Harrison Jones' hat.
My name is Cernunnos, I will love you like no other, I have died a thousand deaths, each time I died I thought of you.

There seems to be a placeholder spot beneath the other markers, which may be a good indicator.

Since the dig sites would prolly be in Firelands "Elemental sites" seems the best bet.

Arguably this places a lot of focus on whats essentially a secondary profession, but since you only have to add a few grey's and perhaps the odd epic, its a simple way to add a bit more flavorto the non-raiding game

It's fun how Humans are such an old race and so wide spread, yet there's no Arcaheology for them yet.

Vrykul are proto-humans so I wouldn't say they're left out. I would like to see Tauren archeology, it would mesh well with Night Elf archeology (since those two races are some of the oldest and have shared beliefs with conflicting origins).
