Go participate in some other discussion, then come back when you *can* post a link. It makes everything much easier for everyone involved, and theres absolutly no reason you just HAVE to get rated as the first thing you do when visitting these forums.

2: If you want to get rated, then RATE THE GUY THAT CAME BEFORE YOU. That is how this "game" works. This is not a "help me plz what am I doing wrong"-thread where we will search your character and optimize it for you, so you don't have to do any of your own dirty work (although people here are nice and will oftenly do it, to justify why youre being rated 6/10 and not 7/10).

This topic is fun and active, and it brings up some good discussions that I can only encourage, like we've seen on the past few pages (setups vs talents vs glyphs etc), but... Man, there are some Killjoys out there.





Hey guys, was just going through the pages here on the hunter forums looking for this thread and couldnt find it so I though Id start one back up. My hunter has been 85 for about 2 weeks now so I just wanted to see what everyone thought.

Pretty good for being 85 for 2weeks, few things you could improve on:
-Glove enchant should be 20agility, it's still BiS.
-Same for cloak enchant, 22agility is still better.
-I'd level LW to get that nice 130agility to bracers.
-If you can afford dropping skinning for something else like JC, enchanting, BS, etc. it would be worth it.
-I don't think stacking haste is worth it at that gear level, especially without T11 4 piece. I'd stick to crit>mastery>haste.
-You should still gem for straight agility even if the bonus is 10agility(your boots for exemple) it's only worth gemming agility/x if it's a 20agility bonus.
-Should probably switch MM. It's the best single target spec with BM close to it. Survival isn't that good anymore, except for AOE.

On topic, i agree with Mortalis don't gem for socket bonus, its not worth it. Level leatherworking and drop skinning for a second main, engineeirng and LW on my hunter is great. And yes, haste is underrated at this level of gear, aim for the 1.66-1.67 cast time on cobra shot

nice PvP gear but..

- there are available PvP enchants for shoulders and head
- isn't better 20agi+20resi for yellow socket?
- you don't need that much spell pen as a BM
- do you play both PvE/PvP with this BM spec?

Note:
If my hit looks wierd, blame the random ring from ToT4W, it does not detect I reforged hit away. I'm 8% hit exactly.
High haste = make up for the high ping
Haste glove enchat shows around 50dps increase on FD, I do know FD is never been great with haste so my guess is, it evens out.
Enjoy my wierd spec I did for Nef H which dosnt help in any way but... I think I was high... and bad I see no raptor glyph.

^Your huntard is great, the only weird thing I find is your spec. Marked for death is basically useless, and the two points can be put to use in other talents ( such as bombardment), as hunter's mark lasts for 5mins which is basically more than enough for most fights, and if not, you have to refresh it ONCE. And the one point into concussive barrage isn't needed either, unless your guild needs it for Cho'gall or something.

Your hunter is very well geared with proper reforging, my one comment is gem on gloves in which you use a 40 hit when you should be using 20 agi and 20 hit, agi > hit > all other stats.

i think your pvp spec looks good, ur gemming and chanting is good. ur chose different pvp talents than i did, but i think yours probably works best for your playstyle

LOL BM>SV? hahahaha I'm sure that you kid cause I can pretty much out dps any BM or MM hunter single target (obviously not if they are in full BiS gear compared to me) but without the joking, to me, survival is still being the best spec just because of all the flexibility you have when it comes to rotations. MM turns to shit if you have to move a lot and for 10 man you will end up out dpsing a MM hunter if you are SV and BM sucks for some fights, especially Atramedes.

I don't think that's true; it's dependent on the fight. BM on atramedes is not a good choice, but BM is nice in almost every raid, especially if you're bringing the 3% damage buff (1-2k dps loss as BM compared to MM/SV is worth it compared to the rest of the raid getting more overall dmg). On to your character; entrapment for survival is quite possibly one of the best talent points (you can take them from Survival Tactics if you wish). Because I use SV for pretty much every AOE fight, I shift talent points from Careful Aim and put them into One With Nature. I'd also take glyph of Raptor Strike (you can choose either Trap Launcher or Ice Trap), as damage reduction is vital in progression fights. Try and get BiS enchants (agi for bracers) and different professions (herbalism isn't the best and alchemy only increases flask duration I believe, but I haven't rolled a alchemist so I wouldn't know). If you have enough VP, try and get the tier chest, as 4pc allows you to reach the haste caps, fitting more shots in a "rotation."

I was in PVP gear my bad, I mostly pve and my two specs are pve.
