My question is whats a good amount of spirit to start healing heroic? I have about 1700 am I gonna go OOM after the first pull

It all depends on how you heal, remember to use your cheaper spells, the way i worked out if i was ready was to do normals til i was very happy with how it all worked, then moved to heroics, if you find your having issues then back to improving bits of kit.
That said 1700 is a good starting place.
for heroics you Can stand with your ammount.. though with that i would pick a tank and not roll with LFG
not CCing eats more mana. at the start of cata you could do hc (me on my priest) with barely 328 ilevel gear. though that needed a certain ammount of coordination.
if you go wotlk style, no ammount of spirit will help you
This basically. When I was gearing up my pally, I accidentally queued for a heroic when I was still warming up to regs. The run went very smoothly because the tank was very well geared and a smart player. Also, I got VC (Deadmines), where the damage (for the most part) is heavy single target. Sadly, this will never be the case all the time. On my pretty well geared main, I sometimes need to carry a poor tank. There's really no way to tell if you are ready other than your own comfort. If you really want to know, I'd post an armory link. When it comes down to it though, it's really all comfort.
Would the procs from DMC: T and Heartsong on my weapon make up for me just having 1700 spirit?

1,700 should be enough. Don't be afraid to ask the group to CC. You're the person who has to keep everyone alive, so if they're smart they'll respect your wishes and CC. The other day, I was doing a random heroic on my Hunter and the healer asked if we could CC, and the tank says yes. The tank asks the rogue to sap a target, and the rogue starts complaining about how unnecessary and annoying it is. I say, "The healer asked for CC, so we CC."
It only takes one CC'd mob to make a huge difference in how much damage you have to heal. A great example would be the Earthshapers in the first 3 pulls of Stonecore. When they become elementals, their dust storm thing does insane AoE damage and is very difficult, if not impossible, to heal through for a low-geared healer.
Also, be sure you're taking the Malfurion's Gift talent, as the clearcasting procs from Lifebloom save a huge amount of mana. It also turns Tree of Life in to an even more awesome cooldown, because it lets you have Lifebloom rolling on an unlimited amount of targets, meaning tons of Clearcasting procs. And, don't be afraid to put 8 points in the Balance tree to get 3/3 Moonglow. I don't need it anymore on my druid, but the 3% reduced cost on my heals was a life saver (and I mean that quite literally) when I was just getting in to heroics on my druid.
You probably dont have the right rotation. i have around 2100 spirit and in heroics i rarely drop under 90% during the whole run.
I keep LB on the tank. I RJ people that have taken a little dmg. WG on CD. I norish to keep LB up. I use RG on proc. I swiftmend on cooldown(try to do it melee for the proc)

Dont RJ people that have taken a little damage. Only use RJ if you know it wont overheal. RG dps if clearcast procs and they need healing.
Dont swiftmend unless you have to (if the tank is taking a lot of damage and you have fallen behind). Keep it as an "oh crap" if you need it.
Other than that, what you are doing looks fair enough.
As said, at lower gear levels depend on your WG and nourish. If you don't need to use Rj, don't. It also may not be you. Make sure you tank is CCing. Also, probably 90% of the dmg in heroics is avoidable. People shouldn't be getting hit by things unless it's just a certain mechanic they have to be.
If you are honestly going oom with that much spi, DMC:T and heartsong, and the way you heal that the groups problem, not yours.
this.about how comfy uuuu are, get all spirit gear gem intel etc. you will struggle alot at the beginning but it becomes much easier as the upgrades are amazingly stronger.i say you rough it out and even try to queue rhe easier ones first to get ready for the pain of random queuing.
I just changed my glyphs so that now i have the swiftmend glyph. Now that it doesnt comsume a RJ or RG. does the target that I use swiftmend on still need to have a RJ or RG on them?
Currently at 2700 with Tsunami up and running. I'm raiding heroic raid content and it's way more than enough.
1700 spirit for healing heroics is fine, just be careful about what spells you use and be prepared to drink every now and then. I'm sure the stickied resto guide can help you a bit with the spells.
EDIT: I read RG, not RJ. My bad. Still going to leave this here anyways.
That's why you run out of mana. RG shouldn't be used that much until you get better gear, or if you get a clearcast (clearcast RJ to refresh LB without overhealing is the best possible situation you could ever get into). Try seeing where the damage is gonna go a bit ahead of time, or simply try and increase your reaction time and use Nourish.
Remember to never (or at least try) swiftmend a person standing on their own. What I mean by that is that if all your DPS is melee except a mage standing on his own, don't waste Efflorescence on 1 target and save it for the tank. Similarly, WG heals your entire party, don't forget about it (and don't cast it for just 1-2 targets!)
Another thing to remember is that if you have Rejuvenation and Lifebloom on a target, they boosts each other through your mastery. For more situations in heroic, assuming your tank is decently geared, rolling 3 LB's and Reju on your tank should cover most of the damage. Everything else can be covered with a Nourish.
Last thing: Tree of Life. I don't want to assume anything about you but most players forget about this. It's a 3 minute cooldown, use it. The boost to your heal with offset your lack of gear in most situations. The entire party in trouble? ToL+Tranq!
