So you say cata is the most boringest thing since ever

I’m just curious as to what you were doing in previous wow expansions that made them less boring?

-Dailys
They didn’t show up till the 2 or 3rd patch in BC and in vanilla you didn’t get them at all.

-PVP
You have been getting progressively more maps every expac so your not doing the base 3 that were released in vanilla.

-Dungeons
We still got a bunch of them you can run too and there are even rewards now for actually completing them instead of looking in LFG for a tank for 2+ hours only to get one that was sub par geared and would drop group the moment his trinket didn’t drop off the first boss.

So when people are saying that cata is boring and there is nothing to do after you raid for the week and do your dailys. What were you doing when there was less content but apparently the game was less boring?

Or is it just the communities every present thirst for new content? because I swear I remember threads just like that back around 3.0 when the only raid content was naxx/sarth/maly and the hardcore guilds could burn through them all in one 4 hour raid block.

That was a frustrating time.

This is true, however everytime something that is not WSG or AB shows up, I want to /afk -_- Old maps are the best.

I dont know if the most boring ever, i do know that I have a lot more fun in the beginning of wrath. I was making 6-7 heroics a day even after not needing anything, now i am not even 1. And Nax was fun to em because i have never done classic one, although probably not for any that have.

Most of the people who are complaining that this expansion is boring are probably the ones that are close to burn out, I know I felt Wrath get really boring but that's because I had been playing for about 5 years, I needed a break and took one, I'm back at this expansion and having more fun than ever, I'm focusing on achievements for my priest, my guild is working on Nef right now, we only raid 2 days a week for maybe 4-5 hours a day and started in Januaryish? So I think this expansion has more to offer, also trying to level and gear my alts is a challenge that I really have very little time for so I think really the ones complaining just need a break Take one, it doesn't hurt to go outside! :P

Dailies - Used to have a story *cough* BC *cough* behind them or a nice prequest like the orgrila ones.

PVP - Wish they never took away marks. Which gave incentive for doing all the bgs. Also honor just turned into a joke period and just the whole pvp system in general. Its funny how WSG and AB and the old AV(This is my personal opinion) are still the best bgs period.

Dungeons - Well gear used to mean something. Remember when heroics didn't hand out free epixs? oh wait I forgot noone wants to try for gear anymore. Why should we have to try to do heroics or dungeons, after all we just want to raid. People seem to miss the fact that if you used to want to raid you used to have to do heroics.

Professions - Remember when money actually had vaule? Remember when Blacksmiths actually made awsome weapons? Or when Bots weren't everywhere?


There is nothing in this game anymore not gear nor weapon that is now impressive to have. They made mounts such as the one from Sethekk Halls easily farmable like it was so hard to find a druid talk to them and maybe become friends while farming a mount. Or better yet lets just take away the pride someone has for getting a title from classic such as Grand Marshal and lets give it to some random kid who doesn't know his left hand from his right.....

When nothing has merit in a game. There no longer becomes a point in doing it. Right now only raiding has the slightest bit of Merit. That is why everyone is bored when they aren't Raiding.

PvP! It's not THAT long of a queue time, and plus, it's free honor that you can spend on getting gems and mats. It's less stressful, too.

My guild is barely into heroic, yet I find the raid content some of the most fun I've had in WoW since TBC.

The problem is, that's all there is. I don't enjoy PvP as much as I used to, and besides Raiding and PvP, there is NOTHING to do that is fun. Leveling used to be fun when it was still a challenge to run level-appropriate dungeons and do group quests, but these things are history.

i doubt people are saying that its boring because of the lack of things you could do but because the things like dailys,BG's,random dungeons, farming mats, playing the auction house is mundane, repetative, irritating(daily hc with mostly numptys) and just very dull to do day in day out...it's not even like its hard or gives you any sence of acomplishment.

While Blizzard admits it was wrong to remove the 3.0 drakes when Ulduar came out, from a time period comparison, Ulduar came out around this time and people were excited for it. With the next raid at the VERY earliest in May, they are "behind schedule".

I agree to some extent, Part of me being bored with the game (and eventually ending my sub) was just overplaying it. Wow took a pretty big portion of my life for a few years (although I still went out to pubs/clubs at least twice a week). After some years, it just gets old though. This has more to do with the player than with the game. However, some changes in cata also made the whole "getting bored"-thing bigger for me personally (10-25 merge among others). but for the main part, I think I was too excited for cata, and when it didn't turn out to be as game-changing as I thought it woud be, it kinda backfired
