However this series ends, I think both Detroit and San Jose have answered the detractors questions about Howard and Niemi. It is going to be real hard to consider that the weak point of either of these teams as the series goes on.

Well to be fair, the refs were out to get the Wings last season in this series. The officiating has been bad this series, but outside of game 1 where the Sharks were diving left and right late in the game, it has been equally bad for both teams. The leagues warning about diving, the Thornton penalty the other day, and Tootoo losing the game and series for Nashville on his diving penalty should completely solve that issue for the rest of the season. Much better 2nd period for Detroit. Much better. a 1 goal defecit is easy to deal with. especially the way Detroit has played the third in the last couple games.
