Toronto Marlies member and UFA Will Acton is apparently going to join his dad and assistant coach Keith Acton in Edmonton, alongside his former coach Dallas Eakins. Shame to see him go, he was pretty good for the Marlies.

Preds sign Stalberg, Matt Cullen, Matt Hendricks and Nystrom. Looking at our lines for next year we all can't but think Poile has something else in the works trade wise. That gives us 6 centers and leaves us with basically two extra forwards just sitting there in Clune and Beck. They look really odd right now.

Apparently Cullen and Stalberg were signed to replace Erat. Cullen is a solid Vet and you know what you get from him. Stalberg is basically being given a chance to be a top line guy and see what he does with it. Nystrom and Hendricks were apparently signed to bring the Preds gritty style back. Depending on what guys like Smith, Wilson, Stalberg, Forsberg, and Borque do, this could either be a rather entertaining year, or a lot of 1-0 and 2-1 boring kind of games. ( my bet is on the later)

I think Grabs didn't do himself much good with his rant as he left, may make some GM wary of him. My guess is Iggy may take a bit more time as he probably has a much shorter list of where he is willing to go and teams may want to wait til the fallout is over to commit.

We also apparently signed a goalie Carter Hutton on a two way deal. Don't know a dang thing about him.

What defensemen are there out there for the Flyers to pursue after we lose the 4.9 from Pronger? We'd have ~3.8 in cap

I'm not. Neither is a top producer any more, maybe not even legitimate secondary producers recently. Sure Grabo made a show of commitment in the playoffs, but where was that during the season - and he still didn't manage to score when it counted? He hasn't played like he's awake ever since he signed his big contract. I know there are all sorts of excuses about him playing through an illness, but that doesn't cut it. Best thing he did all season was bite Pacioretty.

Iggy makes me sad to see in his current state.

Both could be useful players if they find a little renewed life, I wish them both well - but right now GMs are going to be scrambling for bigger prospects I'd imagine.

Not much coming out of Calgary today, some house cleaning moves so far but apparently? Mason Raymond is going to sign with us. Not overly thrilled but I guess he's pretty quick and kind of young? I don't know, wasn't impressed when he was in Vancouver.

Jarome to Boston, remember when someone dismissed that I said this would happen? I know I was joking but still :

I didn't see that one coming at all. I'm pretty happy with the move though, that's for sure! Our top two lines are looking to be Lucic-Krejci-Iginla and Marchand-Bergeron-Eriksson. Definitely happy with those lines, couldn't really have done much better replacing Horton and Seguin than that with the cap space we had available. Plus, Soderberg can step in to the third line in Peverley's place which should be an upgrade as well. Soderberg-Kelly-Smith is a pretty solid third line, and our fourth is completely intact still.
