    Lord Anthrycist - Don't Panic!

Okies, I saw the other post, which was absolutely ridiculous, or a very clever troll. I figured I'd just throw this here, and I'm sorry if most people already know or I'm not meant to make these sorts of posts.

I am 99% positive that Lord Anthrycist is not named after "The Antichrist", it is almost definitely based off of the word "anthracite".

Im sure of this because anthracite is a type of coal, a fitting name for a boss located in the Firelands, no?

    Anthracite
    an·thra·cite
    -noun
A mineral coal containing little of the volatile hydrocarbons and burning almost without flame; hard coal.

The other thread was closed, do you really think it's a good idea to open another about it?

I was unsure... I assume I'm helping by cleaning up any misconceptions some people might have. If a mod thinks that this thread needs to be closed/deleted then so be it.

The other was closed because of religious flamewar...explaining the logic behind the name seems fine as long as no one goes loony

Why is it loony to give a boss an incredibly obvious nickname?

Just like to ask one of the supposed "offended" christians how exactly making an anagram for the antichrist a bad guy and killable in a game make blizz satanists? Now if he was a friendly npc sure.

no, antichrist is just so much easier to remember, and, to be honest, it's quite funny.

the only name that has ever made me have to double take.... well played blizzard

People are so silly. Oh noes! Blizzard are devil-worshippers! Run for the hills!

Seriously, it's just a freakin' name! People whom get offended by a name of a virtual creature inside a game is just.. well, for lack of a better word. STUPID. Or maybe completely brainwashed by some religious organization (I which case it's only sad).

Anyway, the OP is right. The name is probably a reference to Anthracite rather than Antichrist. Although it actually would have been more fun the other way around.

The always "offended" christians have this tendency of thinking too much over matters that really don't matter.

Oh the double standards at work with this....
Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.
