My wife's toon got hacked once and all of a sudden there was like 200+ netherweave cloths and she sold those on ah and made a killer profit off that. Thank you Mr. Goldfarmer for your dumb azz self and ur lack of respect for the wow player.
One time I bought a rediculous amount of stuff ... maybe 30K worth from trade for about 3K, I guess someones guild bank being hacked. I put it all in my bank and ticketed a GM that I suspected the account was being hacked and said they could either credit me the 3K and take the stuff, or could I keep it. They let me keep it which is what I had hoped for ^^
I doubt they really care that much about the occasional instance of someone making a buck from a hacking tbh :/
Reporting that you have been selling gold sellers items does not exempt you from punishment, there was a post not to long ago about a player who would find glitches and "clever use of game mechanics", after doing a few he reported the glitch and was suspended and then perma banned
rule of thumb- if you shoot a guy and tell the police you shot him, you still get tossed in jail

Just mention that your account was hacked, and now that you have it back, you keep getting mails with this stuff from someone you don't know. They will then take the logical conclusion and say "Hey, it's probably a gold seller mailing him the items". Easy.
If you shoot a guy and tell police you shot him, you still land in jail, but you might get a lighter sentence.
This... I'm not sure if it will for sure, but selling it may end up getting you a ban if they mistake you for a botter, or believe you're buying the goods with real-life currency (i.e. aiding in botting). Ticket a GM, say you're not sure who the person is that is sending it and attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful.
Obviously, the hacking institution that gained access to your account doesn't realize that you've regained control.

They are going to look at his account, and see his activity, most likely if greed has become his motive to sell these leather stacks (which im sure he did if hes worried about more being sent to him) hes going to be banned for that, not because hes getting free stuff, selling gold sellers leathers is a bannable offense for not reporting it before hand.
and blizzard has 3 forms of sentences, warning, suspend, ban, and since they have a 0 tolerance for gold seller affiliation, the ban hammer is looking good right now

I'd say go for it, but do it knowing that Blizzard could lump you in with the Goldsellers and ban you for exploitation of the economy.
yes i realize you where just trying to help him, but if he actually came to mmo champ to ask if he should or should not be doing this, his intent is to sell these items, simple as that, his actions will have consequences since he did not report the items when he first saw them

Report the account ASAP, definitely, as a possible gold farmer, considering you were recently hacked.
If it were me, I'd keep selling the stuff though. It's not against TOS to keep stuff that people accidently send you in the mail, and you are obviously not involved in their operation.
Wrong, dont give him idea such as this, it is against the ToS to be affiliated in any way with a gold seller, full heartily knowing that its his items, and selling it for personal gain, since he came here he apparently has yet to make the report, there for his actions will be of negative outcomes

Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

For once, Carville was a man ahead of his time.
Yeah...to answer that question specifically, I can't tell him how to feel (guilty or not) but I can say that I personally would not advise continuing to take advantage of the situation.
His actions more than likely will have consequences; if he does the right thing and reports them now, though, it might be less severe than being discovered later.
And you wouldn't want an actual gold farmer/hacker banned why...? Purely for personal financial gain?
I think that viewpoint is a bit...selfish, no offense.

Yep. It is what it is at this point. :P We've said all that needs to be said, the rest is for the OP (and Blizzard GMs) to decide.

Just remember if you play dumb and sell it, I hope you haven't talked to anyone in game about this. Meaning, tells, guildchat etc because Blizzard will be able to pull all records of conversation in game.
