But I can't see it making a difference. I doubt the servers are set up in a way to allocate each individual thread a certain amount of memory.

40 thousand Pony Posts will have the same effect on the server no matter how many threads they are spread over.

I do strive to be the best I can. I was almost always top 3 dps on every fight, even the ones unfriendly to my class or spec. I don't much enjoy the stress though. I prefer to laid back atmosphere of tanking. I've raided at the high end in 4 different MMOs and it's always the same. Whether you're a grunt, an officer, raider leader or GM, it's all the same. You've got to deal with a bunch of other shmucks and their attitudes. Shmuckiness seems to be positively correlated with hardcore-ness,which I have associated, but you are dissociating, from striving to be the best.
