    Does drain life count?

    Hey guys i was wondering, does drain life count as a dot for the fel hunters shadow bite? or since its channeled does it not count?

    Yes, its counts as a buff

    Drain Life a DoT? Yes and No - It is a DoT while you are channeling, it does count for the Felhunters damage.

    Why? Both deals damage over time, just with a different animation.

    Yes. This is the reason that Drain and Shadowbolt filler specs are just about equal DPS-wise.

    The difference is if it puts a debuff on the target or not, it's an easy rule of thumb.

    Funny thing about channeled "beam" dots... it can be stopped by cleansing the target OR by interrupting your cast! With no debuff on the target from a spell like Arcane Missiles, there is nothing to cleanse.
