Hello there fellow priests of the digital cloth. I'm a little bit stuck, I think I have my gear and stats a little muddled and am told different things from every source under the sun, can you guys help clear me up? You guys I can normally rely on,

Looks to me like you're doing everything right, except for being almost 100points over hitcap. Switch up some of your hit/spirit reforging to Haste or Crit and you should be good.

Some reforge changes are needed. Shoulders need Crit > Haste
Nearly 1% over hitcap is a lot of rating going to waste.
As far as gemming goes. If the socketbonus is +10 for a single gemslot it's best to ignore the bonus if the net gain from a pure gem gives more dps.
For instance: the Purified Demonseye in your gloves gives you +20Int/+20Spirit. Seeing as you're over hitcap you get 30 Int due to the gem and socketbonus while a +40 Int gives you even more. The excess on spirit doesn't do anything to increase your dps.
I'd get a Belt of the Depths. Cord of the Raven Queen is a good cheap belt but the stat allocation is pants since belt of the Depths has far more Haste which is your main stat after Intellect.
Also change your metagem to Burning Shadowspirit Diamond.
