I wish people would stop using this "slippery slope" arguement on why this is so terrible. Just because something can happen, doesn't mean it will. Stop jumping to the conclusion that you will eventually have to pay for raids or items. Middle ground does exist, stop freaking out.
Then Blizzard might as well charge you a measly 3-5 dollars for every single feature they implement. Then the game will have most of its features in a cash shop, just like Lord of the Rings Online, as well as a monthly fee.
Blizzard are trying to have their cake and eat it too, don't let them.
Thank god i'm quitting this game, ridiculous to pay for anything after we already pay $15 a month. Blizz is such a great company
Blizzard - 109213172387182931231213
Subscribers - 0
Agreeing on what 99% of the people have said here :P. I wouldn't use the service even if it was free, but it's more the "premium" word that bothers me.
As if our monthly/3/6 monthly fee isn't enough, with us also paying for expansions, and in my case special edition expansions (I treat myself to them cuz I play WoW a lot), and that's still not enough? WoW! I can't imagine that they're struggling to get enough money when they have twice the amount of subscribers than there are people in my country (Denmark)... It just screams GREED.
Well its not exactly not JUST the price.
We're already paying £120 a year just to have access to the game. Another £5 a month would increase that drasticly to £180. That's almost £200 a year on -one- game, and in this economic downturn that really isn't a viable price to be charging customers - especially when high production value "F2P" MMOs like GW2 are coming out.
Two things:
- I will not use it if it's a premium service. Ever.
- I treat the very fact something like that is regarded by Blizzard as meriting an extra fee as a clear signal WoW is not for me anymore, at least while the management showing such greed.
For a second there I got excited and Imagined how much fun I could have... then I got to the "premium" part.
Wont be using that.
ONE QUESTION...
If I want play with friends from diferent real. All of my friends have to pay it too?? Or Only I???
It doesn't affect me as i have no friends....but if they carry on in that direction then i will be rather upset
If there starting a premium service , Don't be surprised the Cross Server BOA items you will have to have a premium service to use it.. mark my words it will $$$$$
So let me understand: WoW is losing subscribers and one of the possible ways to retain players could be to implement cross realm groups.
But they make that a paid service, with a good chance to piss off more players that could possibly quit?!?
And they wonder why they're bleeding subscriptions?
Sadly most people pay real money for mounts, non combat pets so this will work too...
