Paid service?
CASH GRAB.
I won't be buying. This sort of Real ID functionality should be built-in. It's not allowing raids or BGs, apparently, only dungeons? Lame.

Awesome service, sucks that it's paid...
One word:
Outrageous.
See, it's step by step. First a cute pet.. Ah, what does it matter. Then a mount.. Mm, ah well, not the best thing, but why not. And now this - an ingame service that requires more than the already steep montly fee we're paying. What's next? Pay to raid or arena?
ExBlizzard employees officially founded Flagship Studios, Castaway Entertainment, Ready At Dawn, L5 Studios, Red 5 Studios, ArenaNet, and Undead Labs... so I mean... it's not like they haven't lost alot of people over the years and I wouldn't doubt if it had anything to do with Vivendi, Activision, etc.
Edit: Also, apparently, Carbine Studios, Turpitude Design, Hyboreal Games, and Runic Games.

watch, sooner or later they will bring back old raids then charge you to be able to get in it,
or you have to pay for an ability to change your character level to any level you want as long as it is not above your max level
You cannot possibly be that naive.
You don't pay your subscription fee as a maintenance fee. Sure, some of it goes to overhead like power and bandwidth and salary. Quite a bit of it goes to profit, as well.
You're not paying these guys to cut your lawn. I mean, hell, you're paying them a monthly subscription fee to develop new expansions, right? Why should you have to pay for that?
God damn communists.
it comes as no surprise they had to make up for the lost sub money, they were probably expecting to gain more subs after cata's launch and wrath launching in china
You already have to. It's called the tournament servers.
If other companies can host games for free, the entire monthly fee is simply a fee to keep them delivering content and continued service, this is just them telling you they want a larger chunk of profit for additional services they used your money you already paid to develop.
Guild Wars was able to make three-stand alone games and one full fledged expansion for all 3 games off of box sales and micro-transactions.

Well if they are really making it a payed service it should be implemented into the already cost of the remote ah, etc price and yeah not really much to say about it, will they sell a lot of it no since who stays inside 5 mans all day?
The only time im in a 5 man its just to get maelstrom crystals and ehm i mean im "needing for my 2 os"
Wth is the point of this game having a subscription if 90% of the content is going to end up costing extra?
yeah because god forbid a for-profit company, that has to answer to its shareholders, want to make a profit. How could they ever be so heartless and evil.
This is an added feature. When you get something extra on top of what you are already paying for, it should not be unexpected to have to pay more for it.

Activision and Kotick finally decided to milk out that cash cow in every single way possible. This is just a beginning. Before you say " AMGQQQ Kotick and Activision dont have anything to do with Blizzard." Correct, Activision payed shitload of money so they couldn't influence Blizzard. They just wanted the name.
This microtransactions will become more often. Who knows what else they will come up with.
Seriously, if this thing is a paid service it better be like, £2 per month or something, anything else is fucking robbery.
Those companies are for-profit companies just like Blizzard is and some of them actually have larger profit margins than Blizzard, which speaks worlds about Blizzards bloated administration and service costs, and they do it with essentially donations.
They screwed up Cataclysm, they lost players and profits because of it, and they're essentially punishing the rest of the community for it.

I'm not disagreeing with you that it's profit driven.
What I'm disagreeing with is this sense that they owe you anything because you've been paying a monthly subscription fee.
You're a consumer. Not an investor (well, you could be, but that transaction is entirely separate from your subscription fee!). Your monthly subscription fee does not entitle you to any say into what blizzard does and does not develop, or what services they charge for. It entitles you to the ability to log into world of warcraft and play the game for a month.
If you do not like what the company you're giving money to is doing, then STOP giving them money. The idea of NOT getting your money is what effects change in this game. Bitching after you're paid up gets you a pat on the head.
This is the first time they've ever released a base gameplay service and decided to charge players for it. It's akin to charging cash for respecs, regems, reenchants, or removing rez sickness like Allods tried and it killed them. One of their core principles has been to ensure that in regards to gameplay, money does not become an issue that directly differentiates one player from the next. Making this service premium expressly violates that, and fyi, I already cancelled by subscription earlier today.
They owe their players no more than they've said they were offering in the past and this is a direct violation of those things they claimed to offer.
This is like the water company trying to charge you extra if someone not in your household uses your bathroom or gets a drink. It's ridiculous.

What kinda bullshit is blizzard trying to pull now? Paying...for this!! No thank you.
