    World of Logs

I know it is early, but it really is disheartening to see that out of the top 10 healing ranks for 6 bosses, 42 out of 60 of them are druids. I think priests are in a good spot right now, disc could maybe use a little buff? but I do think druids need to be toned down a bit. What do you guys think? I was ranked second Holy Priest on Bel, but didn't make the top 10 list because 9/10 on that fight are druids.

I feel your pain, like... a lot! I run 25 mans as a disc priest and we run with 3 druids. I have to fight my ass off for 4th place even, and nobody can even TOUCH the druids. And, on my priest I can accept that there are fights I will suck at just because of mechanics, but i've found druids are good at EVERY fight! How is that fair? I have no idea.

Every time I refresh the page, another healer gets kicked off by a druid.

It's because druids rock HPS thanks to their mastery and group heals. It has nothing to do with quality of healing. If you check, their overhealing is insane.

Healers shouldn't worry about topping charts the same way DPS do. You don't "overDPS" like healers can overheal. Healing charts are always misleading.

Yeah I know the charts are pretty misleading, it's all about who you keep alive. It just annoys me when the druids are all proud of themselves, and I almost lost my raidspot <.>. I do find it kind of unfair though, when we were doing Firelands, that during a very heavy AoE with rolling hots and Tranq our druid was pushed up to 45k HPS! No other healer could even hope to do that amount...

Even though there is some merit to your story that there should be more balancing, the tone of your post actually sounds more like a QQ about the fact you can't make the top of the healing list. Raiding is about team effort, not about individual achievements. As long as noone dies it's fine. If druids do lot more healing than other classes, then other classes could possibly support with other stuff. Mind you, there's a lot of overhealing involved too, which is of course never good.

Raiding should not be about topping the epeen list, but looking at what your team has to offer in abilities and make efficient use of that. I don't care if I don't make the top position of Recount. I know I'm doing my best to be a valuable addition to the team, so if I lose DPS due to the fact I'm on CC or interrupt duty or whatever, then fine, just as long as the fight goes smoothly. It's not like raid teams will go all druid healers really, since other classes bring a lot of abilities even if they fall behind on HPS or such.

If you're group is stupid enough to equate HPS with good healing, link the Overhealing and Mana Gained from Recount or Skada. Your druid will no doubt top both of them by a ridiculous amount. The only ones who would gain more mana are DPS since they don't have passive mana gains. The druid will also be the one who needs everyone else's mana CD's before anyone else. Had a priest, pally, or shammy been doing the same thing (overhealing and going oom like crazy), they'd be slammed for it. Restos do it just because of their group heal capabilities.

The main difference between the priests, shamans and druids on those logs is the ability to singlehandedly top off the entire raid in less than 10 seconds, once every 3 minutes.

If PW:B 's reduction would come in the form of healing, you would probably see disc priests all over those logs.

if druids are so good have u seen a 5 druid healing raid? pallies were good too but i dont remember a 5 pally raid when they were in their prime there was always another aoe healer even in paragon. priests have their uses too they have some nice cds holy has guardian angel which if used on cd is a huge mana save on tank heals or as a life saver in both cases its useful plus lightwell is amazing healing just gonna yell at ur raid to use it and disc is just one big cd spec imo good all around id always want a disc priest in raid even if theres a holy pally.

/edit: also divine hymn increases healing received by the raid by 10% so i would say that is a meter padder for the priest only.. like everyone said the usefulness of a healer is shown by the hps meter

It is still very early in the patch, so you always have to consider that there are potential 'tweeks' to come. Even then, it isn't just about meters. The raid cooldowns or external 'survival' cooldowns on tanks are critical at times. I believe that the power of Tranq is helping them massively though...

I don't think anyone would take a druid over a priest just because they rock the meters. Priests still has pretty great cooldowns, druids only has one - Tranquility - which is a big reason for their huge hps.

Please go back to being a dps, no good raid leader is looking at meters going "you're a bad healer because a druid out healed you" You're going to have to put your epeen way and keep your target alive. Who cares who tops meters as long as the boss goes down. If you really need to top a meter roll shadow.

Every healer has their "niche" healing spot. Druids are really good at assisting to stabilize the raid, but for the most part they aren't really "saving lives" unless they are direct healing instead of hots or Tranquility. But you tie in a R. Shaman or a H/D Priest next to a R Druid and you have a stable raid with HP bars going up quickly. Just because they are topping HPS doesn't mean that they are better/worse than any other class, the playstyle is just completely different.

Raiding takes more than stacking 1 class 5+ times, it takes synergy and strategy. Every class/spec has their place in the raiding world. You also have to take into consideration that usually the highest ranking healers are only there for a few reasons: their raid takes far more avoidable damage than they are supposed to therefore said healer has a lot more health to heal, they are extremely underhealing and therefore each healer is going to have higher HPS than a "normal" raid comp, etc.

Way too early to say anything yet.

The new gear will change a lot of things due to scaling. Could make things worse or better, we'll see.

Yea tranquility up the DRUID HPS a lot, but when a druid get more than 40% of the healing and the others less than 30%, something is wrong and you willl see a lot of this in the logs right now.

    Im done, /reroll druid

Well now that I think about it, it's not so bad. They're just healing EVERYONE for small amounts every few seconds, which looks good... but the pallys and other healers are keeping the tanks alive and whatnot. Although I do think Tranquility is an extremely powerful CD considering it's only 3 minutes. I do feel better after reading this forum, healing meters are a little crazy because of all the different utility each healer brings. I'll probably be a better healer once I learn to close recount... haha!

  17. #17
Instead of looking at where you are in comparison to other healers on the meters, look at your personal breakdown. How much are you overhealing? Which spells are you overhealing most with? What situations could be better handled with different heals?

Also I've found that frapsing and reviewing your play helps sooooooo much beyond belief.

Guys can u plz stfu and let us enjoy the moment? Srsly stop posting this bullshit. This is how blizz learn that a class is OP and consequently nerf it. My theory is if noone says anything it will either prevent or prolong the nerf. So please on behalf of resto druids everywhere, can u please stfu. Druid healing is quite niche. Please dont take it away from us.

Where did I ever say I've been a dps? In fact, I have NEVER raided as a main spec dps. All I said is that it is disheartening to see 80% of all ranked healers being druids. I said that holy priests are in a good spot right now, so I am happy with my spec. I just think that druids need to be toned down a little. Their mastery buff pushed them over the edge now.

I couldn't have said it better myself. There's so much more to being a good healer than "oh em gee mah wol world rankz noooooooooooooooo". ;P
