Post up your favorite songs/artists from these genres! I'll start with one of my favorite bands of all time (they're much more than post-metal as well, duh):

i dont know how to post a video like that, or if just linking the video does that automatically... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMlzk2c2M5k
I just went 4 wheeling... on a tiger. Intense.
Too many to list!
Few gems that got me into the genre:
Slipknot basically stole from this song, diggity! And a ton of other bands did too, really.
Excellent posts so far, I'd also recommend Isis' Panopticon and Pelican's The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon if you haven't listened to those albums yet. And screw you Longview. Seriously, stop getting these vinyls.
Some of these bands are really awesome, but what's it with the records? Is that necessary?
I usually don't care much about genres.. But is this the right place for this group?
@Sukato -- ....That's deathcore. Deathcore is just about the exact opposite of Post-Rock or Post-Metal.
@Kilffharry -- Nope, not really fitting. Post-Rock and Post-Metal is mostly instrumental, both typically involving long buildups leading to climaxes in songs.
Great Irish band here, a lot more upbeat.

ok, hows this then?

That's metalcore, not post-rock/metal. I don't get why people bother posting songs in a thread about a genre they clearly haven't looked up.
Regardless:
I think this one is probably more avant-garde than post-metal/sludge, but it's still got some of the same elements. Tribal drumming, creepy-as-fuck synths, even creepier-as-fuck vocals from Jarboe, and no guitars.

Even though it's really a black metal/ post-rock hybrid, this song off Agalloch's classic album is easily one of the best post-rock affairs I've heard. Never ceases to amaze.
Part one:
part two:
It's not nearly as diverse in sound as some bands, but the moniker "less is more" really comes true here.
So what's up with this Post-rock, Post-metal anyways? It pretty much sounds like sludge or doom metal(except calmer, though)
I think post-rock is a pretty distinctive sound anyway, always very ambient sounding and songs are really long...
I really dont understand how it is similar to metal in any way lol... Metal is THE genre of retarded sub-genres.
