PC CD driver!!HELP!!!

Ok im building a Computer for the first time with these parts:

PSU: CORSAIR CX V2 600W PSU ATX 12V V2.3, 80 Plus, Standard. 2x 6+2pin PCIe, 6x SATA, 120mm Vifte (CMPSU-600CXV2EU)


ASUS HD 6870 DIRECTCU PCI-E 1GB GDDR-5 (EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD)


CPU: INTEL Core i5-2400/ 3.1GHz 6MB LGA1155 (BX80623I52400)


Mobo: ASUS P8H67-M LX LGA11555 DDR3 µATX (90-MIBEQB-G0UBY0GZ)


SAMSUNG 1TB SATA 7200RPM 32MB (HD103SJ)


case: FRACTAL DESIGN Define R3 Black Pearl


Ram: CORSAIR 4gb (KIT) DDR3 1333MHz/ CL9/ XMS3-10600 Matched XMS3 with New Classic Heat Spreader (TW3X4G1333C9A)


hardware: MICROSOFT MS 1x HomePrem 7 SP1 64-bit OEM DVD (NO) (GFC-02061)



And my DaD has this old Computer with a CD Driver in it. but i dont know if it will run with the rest of the compontents listet over here. But also dont know the name of the product. all i can say is whats writen on it after i tokk it out and its as folowing:

(will try to get the most possible information from it)

its a Dvd Writer Model SH-S222 from samsung. i also has somthing writen on the top saying somting like

Sh-S222 in other words the same but after that comes A/rsms so: ....... SH-S222A/RSMS also it says 12V and 5V what ever that means.


iw tryed to google it with no suckes.... so again i seek the Help of the Computer Geniuses here at MMO!!!

Do you mean a CD Drive? lol If so, then as long as its SATA it'll work.

It's old IDE DVD-drive, and will not work with the motherboard you picked. You will need SATA DVD drive.

Besides that the parts list looks mostly sane.

These plugs, if I am correct/if that was your question.

Just get a new Sata DVD drive. They're inexpensive enough. Also your motherboard doesn't have an IDE connector, which is most likely what that Samsung drive uses.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to it.

il have to Grab a new CD- Drive then Good they arent so Expencive tho =) its like 20 Euros or somting =)

Any cd drive will do. I picked the cheapest one I found on my build.
