Agreed. Fellow DK here. They're pretty lackluster; sometimes you can't even tell they're there. But maybe it'll happen in time.

Yeah, it's a PvP set, but in WotLK many PvP sets had PvE sources, so that if one solely raided, he was able to try out PvP with decent gear. Just head over to Dalaran, and it should be on one of those gear vendors. Make sure you find the right one though, since each of them sell a different PvP season.

Like, on my Paladin, I bought the entire Relentless Gladiator set for Justice Points. It cost me roughly 3k JP.

Phantom Blades looks quite nice, and they are placed on your back instead of your side when sheathed. I'd use them if I had any 1H DW class character.

Assuming you're horde try the epic L60 pally pvp set or if it's an ally toon look into the green gear with the "Ironhide" prefix.

That's what my pally has on. Good that you have the shield! Make sure you get the tabard for full effect from the level 50 dungeon quest, given in Org from pally trainer. The cloak is sold in Shatt in the center by one of those dranaei thingies on the second level.
If you want to go skimpy-ish, go with the Darkcrest breastplate and legguards (I decided to go with the chest only), otherwise I went almost fully with the 60 pvp set mentioned above, Warlord's Aegis. I skipped out on the helm, doesn't go with my hair too nicely, rather have it hidden.
Swords are the tricky part, and really based on what you think is cool xD I have Spiteblade equipped currently (with Fiery Weapon enchant, though that won't matter for trans). Red Sword of Courage is also a nice option.
But this is all on my prot pally. I've never seen a holy Blood Knight in game before.

She's wearing the discontinued T3 from the old Naxx. You can still get the same models recolored with the T7/T7.5 from the current Naxx but I don't THINK her exact armor skin is still around.

That's exactly what I was originally thinking but just like the bright golden bow at the time it just kinda looked plain silly. I'm not even hugely bothered about a polearm that exactly matches hunter T4, just one that doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
