question about processor

i am getting a new processor for my computer which is currently running amd 64 bit vista dual core i am upgrading to amd 64 bit quad 945 now heres my question i am only changing the processor so will i still be able to use my old operating system as money is tight right now i have read that you can do it by doing some kind of repair install but im not sure where my disc is and if its possible with out the disc i do have my coa product key sticker on the tower
