Buying new GPU, should I upgrade my PSU?

Hey guys, I need your help once again I'm buying a XFX 6870 Dual Fan. Right now I have a 500W PSU, and I'm wondering, should I buy a 550W?

500W should be fine for that GPU.

if you're from the UK i'd recommend the MSI r6870 hawk with twin frozr III GPU right now as it's super cheap. my 6870 uses two 6pin adapters so i assume it'd be the same. you could also use 6pin to molex adapters if they come with the card, although i don't know if that has a negative effect on anything.

edit: if your PSU is a decent brand it should be ok, but if it's a cheaper make you might have troubles.

    500w is fine for that.

Just write the exact model of the PSU. Or the amperage of the 12V rail (both 12v rails if you have 2).
