    Ganked: What now?

I decided to level a Warlock on a PvP server (just to clarify). Of course, within a couple of levels, I'm killed to oblivion and back; no matter what I do, I'm going to be killed by the same damn rogue. So I'm curious as to what a veteran on a PvP server does in this occasion: do I just log until he gets discouraged and leaves? Should I purposely make a new toon and plea for Stormwind? Not entirely sure what a "correct" response is.

And no, I have no 85's to stop this myself
Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and for thy possession, the ends of the earth. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron. Thou shalt dash them in pieces, like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore ye kings. Be admonished ye judges of the earth. Serve the lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the son lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his wrath be kindled but a little.

Keep yourself hidden, it is usually pretty tough on players at the early levels to stop an 85 from ganking you. If someone decides to corpse camp you, just log for about an hour, by the end of the hour they should be gone (because really, that guy would not want to just sit there for an hour waiting on some guy to get back online). Going to SW to plea for help should only be a very last resort, and it would probably be better just to join a good guild that will help you if someone decides to kill you.

Get help from your guild. Or log off and come back later. Though if this really is within "a few levels" just make sure you aren't flagged for pvp and ignore them, can't be attacked in the starter zones without being flagged.

Honestly? Get off a PvP server. It's part of the douchey, spiteful-against-stranger attitude there and it will never change. If you don't enjoy it then you then there's no point.

Roll a Rogue and do it back.

It's not that I don't enjoy the aspect of PvP: I'm just curious as to a general response when the odds are pretty damned impossible. Sorry if this came off as a QQ post.

Get a few mercenaries from trade. I'm sure a lot of people are bored.

    It didn't.

    People are just small brained.

"Guys I got ganked on a PvP server"

The natural response is "STFU NOOB PVP ON A PVP SERVER HURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR"

I've had this happen when I rolled Alliance on a completely different server than my "home" with a new friend I had met.

Basically if I found a player who had nothing better to do than to just follow me around and try and guess what quest spots I'll be around (thanks to flying this is much easier to do) in order to camp me, I would either go to a main city and ask if anyone bored enough wants to crush some Horde; which has usually helped, as people who often hate raiding and only PvP can find themselves fairly bored and bloodthirsty :P.

But at times when I couldn't get back-up but was really wanting to level, I would have to just queue up and sit in the main town of my current questing zone and try after each completed dungeon/bg.

Sure it can be stupid to have to sit around and wait but often times it's at least some sort of forward momentum when someone wants to try and ruin your day. :P

It didn't come off as QQ, nor am I "small-brained" as the next poster claimed. That's just my advice if you don't like being in a situation where you are getting ganked over and over.

More helpful response: Being on BG or dungeon cooldown is a similar situation. What I do in those situations is just log off and go kill some time or get on another toon. I would imagine you could do the same. How long should you stay off? I guess that depends on how urgent your current task is and how likely you are to simply re-encounter the problem players after coming back. 10 minutes will lose all but the most pathetic campers but if you're questing near each other you might have to wait longer til they're done.

only sucks for the first toon before you can return the favor
call it out in general chat (or in sw / org trade chat) there's usually a bunch of players with nothing to do that will happily engage in some world pvp

Just fyi, a little history lesson, ganked means gang killed.

Oh and as Kaopectate said, if you don't like being on a PvP server and it's rules then re-roll on a PvE one. But if I get spawn camped / constantly killed by OP classes, I just go afk for a while or jump on my main/other 85. I don't let it annoy me enough to make a thread about it on some forums, afterall I chose to be on a PvP server.

Sounds like you rolled the wrong faction, the only people that get ganked are the underpopulated.

Everyone rolls one faction in PVP servers for the most part, there's hardly any PvP.

I have been in Kel'thuzad for about a year now and have only been ganked a few times and nobody camped.
The most important thing to realize is, no matter what you experience you are never alone; no matter what you are struggling through, there is always someone who is more unfortunate.

World PvP happened on a PvP server?... this is madness!

Get used to it, it will happen, it's part of the fun of being on a PvP server.

What I would try is to find a spot where I could res where he wouldn't see me right away (behind a tree, under a bridge, whatever concealment is available near your corpse), preferably as far as possible from your corpse (so that he's unlikely to be standing right near you when you res). Before you res, wait more than two minutes (the maximum res timer you can get is two minute, if you wait more than that he might believe you logged off and go away, or at least he might become less attentive). As soon as you res, mount up and run away from where your corpse was.

The idea is to make it harder for him to find where you resed and which direction you went to and take advantage of that time to put as much distance as possible. If he has no idea of the direction you went to he'll soon have too large an area to search for you and hopefully will give up (at least momentarily). If he's waiting for you to res in stealth it can work pretty well because he will probably try to find you while still stealthed so you'll have time to put some good distance before he decides to mount up.

However if he's waiting above you on his flying mount this might be harder or impossible to pull off (but it might be if he's not attentive enough).

Or just take a 15 minute break, it is rather unlikely that he will still be there. If he's still camping you after that it means he's terminally bored and therefore he probably needs to kill you more than you need to continue your quests! It is after all the purpose of lowbies to amuse high levels.

PvP =/= ganking low levels as a lvl85.

Befriend 2 rogues. It makes you feel so boss :3.

What I don't understand is people who keep trying to kill you and fail to do so.

Yes, it is. PvP means "Player versus Player", not "Player versus Player but only in the way I like".
