Anyone else getting the error where the launcher doesn't even open? It just gives me a pop up that says,

"Launcher can not obtain patching information. Please check your internet config"

Is this because the update servers are down?

Nope, no one else is getting that message. All of the people on the forum making multiple posts saying that they're getting that message are just trying to play an early April Fool's joke on you. Now that I've gotten my need to vent some sarcasm taken care of... if you were to take even the smallest amount of time you would see that basically everyone is getting this message and that even if you weren't getting that message it wouldn't matter because all of the servers are down for maintenance. Wait until maintenance is over and worry about it then because it's out of our control at this point.

It's not a patch. It's extended due to the lack of maintenance throughout the holiday season. Actually isn't this only the 2nd maintenance since Cataclysm's launch?

The problem might be one in the same. I would wait until after maintenance and if the problem persists, lodge a complaint.

I get that too.. it sucks. I was worried that I coudnt play but now at least I know i'm not alone to get that message
