Stop using resilence gear to get into heroics

Its really frustrating as a healer to try and heal for five minutes because each dps is doing 5k. Stop trying to cheat the system gear through randoms and dungeons will be a lot easier for everyone.

Pretty sure that ain't the case if they're pulling 5k. Though tbh if they're pulling 5k in pvp gear, I doubt they'll do much better in pve stuff since that's fail either way.

i was in a guildrun today with my hunter in blackrock caverns heroic with item level 320. I did 14,7k dps on steelbender and outdamaged everyone else by far. now i know that hunter is overpowered at the moment, but even with the nerf i will drop to roughly 12k which is still very good. is that cheating?

I think that's a fair point. I don't run dungeons/heroics/raids, but if I did it would far and away be best for me to do it in my mixed 252/265 PVP gear.

If each DPS is only doing 5k, I'd say the problem goes alot deeper than just wearing PVP gear. There's probably something fundamentally wrong with their rotation.

Heh, I've done this for each one of my alts. I just go into the AH, buy all the craftable PVP gear and leave it in my bags. That pushes me over 329 and then I just run the heroics in whatever gear I have equipped. Once I have enough ilvl legitimately I just re-sell the pvp gear on the AH and make my money back.

To be honest, I don't know why Blizzard hasn't implemented a system that excludes the ilvl of your gear if it has resilience on it.

I understand the DPS issues... but I also kinda like it on melee classes. It gives them more stamina so they die less when they stand in fire ;-P

DPS using pvp gear shouldn't be a problem. I've met players using those items who easily do more than 9k dps. A rogue in my guild can even reach 15k dps with half pve half pvp gear.

I don't mind it on DPS nearly as much as tanks. Seriously had a warrior tank in H BRC wearing a bunch of resilience gear, mixed in with crap DPS gear. Yeah. Doesn't make you uncrittable, yo. Then he wanted to roll on DPS plate but whine when I did (holy pally)...I say he was rolling for off and so was I.

I feel sorry for the healers who have to heal fights twice as long as they should because of fail dps doing less than 7k dps on boss fights. Tired of fail dps blaming healers or tanks when they are doing less than 7k dps when they should at the very least be breaking 9-10k on bosses. Too many fail dps getting through the ilvl req with pvp gear and underperforming and putting the load on the rest of the group.

If you know what you are doing and can pull your weight through heroics then its fine but if you can not then do not do it.

DPS wearing PvP gear 'cause it's the best for them doesn't bother me. I'd be pretty concerned if was a tank or healer. From healer perspective, HCs were hard 'til I had better gear, and that was when all the stats on my crappier gear was useful to me...

meh, on my tank set i have mostly Tank gear (got 359 rep belt from hyjal, but i switched some of the crit for parry, cause im a warrior and Hold The Line says hi) just depends on if you can back it up with defense from other gear, ive had DK tanks in full PvP gear try to tank heroics unreforged, and we wiped (i was dpsing)

i'm a mut rogue with 4/5 pvp set and the viscious gladiator's shanker. the majority of my gear is pvp, i have about 2.2k resil. when i do heroics with guildies i pull 11k average.

for some dps classes it's a problem and for others it isn't.

I have a pvp build, am a hybrid class, and generally pull top dps in H dungeons and raids. Bring the player, not the spec.

When are they nerfing the set bonus for PVP gear? Next patch was it?

No. PVP gear is fine. Find something else to blame because that's not the reason for anyone doing 5k dps.
