JC - what's your moneymaker?

2 questions,

1 - I make a lot of elementium guardians, they go for about 4k on my server but they are a big up front investment. What's a good crafted item that's less expensive to make that sells well on the AH?

2 - I find I have a big stock of some blue raw jems, for each type, what cut do you find goes well on the AH? I'll eventually get all the cuts, but for now I would like 1 each that sells well.

Honestly, I find JC is my least successful gold maker. I have every profession maxed with exception of Leatherworking and Blacksmithing.

I got two characters with JC, one with all meta gems and the other with 3-6 cuts of every color. I prospect stuff and make sure that I have 4 of every single cut gem type. My alt is also a transmute master so I transmute shadowspirit diamonds when I need to. Making 5k+ every day.

I'm on one of those servers where the metas are not worth making at all. ~90g uncut at ah and the mats themselves cost more than that. The cut metas are 100-150 usually but I'm not going to waste my time for a chance at a 50g profit.

As far as prospecting elementium ore, that depends on luck if we're talking small amounts and if you're doing it by the thousands, you'd need a server with a large population otherwise ah won't have much ore for sale.

Brilliant Inferno Ruby is pretty much the only consistent money maker on my realm. Others fluctuate, and you just have to keep a close eye on what's gonig on with the market. Brilliants will pretty much always make a decent profit.

Meta cuts - any of the 4.0.6 ones sell for a significant profit if you have the cut. If not, meh.

Buy all green quality gems on the AH that are selling for less than 9g, cut them and sell them to the merchant for 9g each. I've been doing allot of money this way this past few days.

I'd say this is the best answer to this question, prices are so varied among different servers it's pretty much impossible to predict, hell they even fluctuate like crazy on my server, one day a gem goes for 150g next day there's 100+ of the same gem for 60g

Enjoy while it last then, they worth around 10g on my server even on Wednesdays when people get their shiny new conquest gear.

This works as well, though I can't say I make a lot of gold with it, but a couple of hundred gold every day is not uncommon, though it does take quite a while to cut everything so if you got that time to spare you might as well do some daily quests instead, but cutting and doing something else works fine =)
Some days you even find already cut gems for 7-8g on the AH, then just buy and vendor.

This is the 2nd best one of the bunch, just port over to Twilight Highlands and farm the water elementals just northwest of the horde town. 100% drop rate.

Or portal to Hyjal and do the same with the elementals just by the teleport spot, those mobs are engaged by friendly NPCs so they go down quite fast, can get the 10 elemental goo needed in less than a minute.

Though I prefer the gem dailys, so much gold to be made from people buying overpriced gems to do it.

The ones in hyjal are even closer & easier to kill. Still a huge pain imo.

or port to hyjal, run 20 yards, aoe down the lvl 80s that spawn in packs
