    Suggest-A-GPU! (Please?)

    Hello!

I'm interested in upgrading my GPU. I want to be able to run WoW at max video settings; and run FFXIV at high settings ^^

    Processor:AMD Phenom II X2 555 Processor (2CPUs), ~3.20GHZ
    Memory:3070RAM
    GPU:NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT

... Embarrassed, I don't know what information is relevant to a GPU purchase.

    Oh! Price range:$150-$230 . Yes!

Sorry for being so clueless. Please help me!~

I can tell you right now you won't be running anything on max video settings with that CPU even if you do upgrade the GPU your bottle neck will become the CPU.

In any case within that price range you have the HD6850, HD6870, HD6950, and the GTX560 Ti. All four of which are capable of playing on ultra settings, they just won't because the two games you mentioned are more CPU dependent than they are GPU.

Stock maybe. It's the same processor I use, except mine is now 3.7ghz and the other 2 cores unlocked. Something for the OP to consider if it does become a bottleneck.

saying that an upgrade from a 9400 GT wont help is retarded imo. tbh i would go with something low end like a hd6850 cheap and efectiv

Wow, FF has pretty demanding requirements, to run that on high, I'd suggest something like a GTX560Ti or GTX570.

Your CPU seems fine for WoW, but if you want you can get an i5 2500k just because I'm an Intel fanboy.

I didn't say it wouldn't help. I said that he won't be able to play on max settings even with the video card upgrade since his CPU will not be capable. OP will still see a performance increase but their expectations are not in line with what will happen.

Here is a mod warning for you though. Calling an opinion or post retarded is considered trolling and a personal attack.

It would be useful to know your screen resolution. Higher resolutions require a much more powerful card unless you run games at less-than-native resolution, something which I am now sadly discovering on my 2560x1440. >_>

A 560Ti galaxy is on sale from this post http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...k-Friday-Sales for $179. A normal EVGA one is only about $230 too.
