    starting playing the AH

    Hey guys!

I plan on starting 'playing' the AH, but at first I need to know which server is best to make profit fast.

Personally I would like to be on a overcrowded server. At least my fraction should have a high population.
Does anybody know a server with a FULL auction house?

    Thanks in advance!

just log on at 6pm and look at the server list to see the high population ones. The Maelstorm is high and almost 100% alliance

Moon Guard has a huge population, but some of it is perverts. But their AH is really full and people there seem to be excessively lazy and not many people farm things.

Playing the AH towards the end of an expansion might not totally be worth it. Most markets have dried up and prices have went lower. JC on my server especially since ore prices have dropped significantly along with the demand decreasing as most people have mains and alts geared up. There is still gold to be made just not the margins we were seeing when 4.3 and 4.2 dropped. Although as you stated if you find the right server/faction combo there could still be large opportunity. I play Alliance and the prices are much cheaper compared to the Horde AH which is dependant on supply and demand based on population.

Well starting playing the ah at the end of an xpac could be a good thing because he could really begin with MoP hits then, also slivermoon EU is very high pop ally and twisting nether is too horde tho

Higher pop servers are vest imo, but also means more competition. I'd agree with what Bohbo said as the end of an expansion is a poor time to start but you can learn the basics. People do get bored, but lots just take a break from the game. Learn the basics about how to make money by reading forums.

The time to make real money if you are that bothered would be the launch of the next expansion. Not sure id pick a server just with the idea of making money as it gets dull after a while abd usbr as fyn as it ysed to be with so many bots and shufflers.

Overcrowded servers will require way more gold investment and risk than normal servers. And don't overestimate yourself and your gold capabilities, a lot of players who wanted "to play AH" ended bad, as there are people who can make such players to go broke very easy.

Though it depends on what do you mean by "playing AH".

Bad time to start playing AH now.....

But, OP you need atleast 2 85s if you wanna play the AH. You will roll on a new server or what? Will take alot of time.

Yes, I know 1 85 is also enough by far, but more than 1 is great help.

I make a hell of a lot more gold on a low pop server then I did on a high pop one. High pop ones have a lot more competition. On the low pop one I play on there are only a handfull of JCers who play the AH so the gem prices are still around 300g for a cut inferno while ore prices have dropped to 40g a stack (thought there may have been a mass bot ban in the last couple of days as I haven't seen any new ore listed).
