last xpac doesnt mean an end to the game patches can really go on for a long time and maybe rather than xpac theyll add things to the game for a small price for a small amount of content
i live by one motto! "lolwut?"
This isn't necessarily true. We don't know what Titan is specifically. We know it's an MMO, but we don't know if it's an MMORPG or a different kind of MMO. We also don't know what it's storyline/theme is. We don't know that they have the same target market. We don't even know if Titan is going to be pay to play or if they are going to try different methods (like allowing people to spend real money in game the way they can in D3.)
In fact, Blizzard's CEO even stated that the 2 titles would co-exist at the same time.

Wow was supposed to end 12-21-12 but yo
As long as WoW makes profit it will run - why stop a money making machine?
Atoms are liars, they make up everything!
it seems to me that you don't quite understand the arguments that you are citing...
as for the old engine, that is an argument that the game will need to be COMPLETELY overhauled at some point in the future before it gets too big to support itself on its engine
and mainly the fighting sargaras thing, that would have to be the end simply because of one reason. that is the baddest mofo in the entire universe, if we can tangle with him and come out on top then anything else would end up being a huge let down.
It's kinda like what a lot of fans of Bleach have experienced with the past two arcs. you start out building up your lore to make someone into the biggest problem in the universe, he has the power level of god essentially and you finally take him down. then a random nobody shows up that is somehow even more of a problem than the last guy, you must explain why they were not there in the first place, and why they just now showed up and just now became a problem and also how he is worse than the last guy. and after he's done someone new shows up that also had no previous mention and they are an even bigger baddy! this kind of story telling generally ends a series due to fans losing interest in it.(sometimes the author actually makes this type of story intentionally so they can stop the series when their producers will not let them)
also no one said that once the story stops blizz will close everything down. that will not happen untill blizz wants to move on to something else and decide to pull a final fantasy 14.
True but their CEO already said Titan and WoW would co-exist.
http://www.geek.com/articles/games/b...book-20110211/
He then confirmed that Titan and World of Warcraft would co-exist.
If they'd raised the level cap by 10 in Cata and MoP like in BC and Wrath we'd be level 100 already. It's just a number.
Of course, 2 more expansions would mean what, 4 more years? Making WoW 12 years old plus. It would be impressive if it's still running strong by then... but then again WoW is already unprecedented in gaming history. So who really knows?
I think the one big thing to realise is that people on the forums often don't appreciate how little they know about what the future of WoW, the Warcraft franchise and MMOs in general will bring. They're always making their threads so sure they've "figured it out", but really nobody knows, not even Blizzard...
$8.99? Is that the Euro conversion or something?
And I'm sure if they needed to they could re-cast that variable so it could go up to level 65,000 or so.

I don't think you can compare those to an MMO with regularly released content. Those are one-shot games in boxes, with a couple of expansions released later and maybe some significant patch changes. WoW, like other sub-based MMOs, is kind of in a constant state of development and release. There isn't an obvious "stop point".
I do think that whenever they put in the Sargeras battle that will be the last of major content for WoW. That said, people will still be playing WoW after that point. I mean people still play Everquest and it's like 12-13 years old now.
If they keep putting out stuff like Cata and Mope I could see it being dead in 2 xpacs
I agree that it's rubbish but I've seen dozens and dozens of posts over the last couple of years saying that there's only X expansions left and then everyone will be moved to Titan or that once we get to level 100 the game is over so it's not like the OP made it up.
But it's still nonsense and the original post works better as an actual =REPLY= to something other than a thread starter.
"...money's most powerful ability is to allow bad people to continue doing bad things at the expense of those who don't have it."
Right, but that's partly what I'm trying to say with them ending the story on their own terms. They can decide that they are going to bring the story to an "end" in an epic manner, or they can try to extend the franchise by getting really wacky with the lore. You already had a lot of people not pleased with the lore direction they took in MoP. Eventually, more of the same is needed. You can't just keep resolving major plot lines without having to invent new ones.
They may decide that they have more to gain by having an epic "ending" to WoW, while perhaps paving the way for a new generation of lore to rise up. A WoW where Thrall, Varian, and many of the other major names are long gone.
I'd have to say we've probably seen the whole globe. When you lay out a globe flat like the world map is in WoW it's hard to tell if you've circumnavigated the world without any lines of latitude/longitude.
Secondly, Emerald dream would probably have been really boring since all it is, is the world of Azeroth as it would be without any interference by sentient beings. Basically Just forests, deserts, and other non-settled areas. I could have seen Emerald Dream as a raid or dungeon, but nothing more than that.
