I am receiving my first SSD this week because my main drive is starting to through a lot of SMART errors, and its old has hell anyways. So I wanted to know of any suggestions for my first install.
My setup will look like this:
OS drive: Samsung 840 250gb
Extra drive: 500 gb HDD
I intend to do the following:
OS on SSD, move stuff like program data and user data to storage drive. Install only "important" programs to the SSD, everything else is going to my extra. I really don't use a lot of data on my current system, and 750gb will be more than enough for the most part. I was hoping to leave my extra drive formatted as is, but if necessary i can reformat it as well (i have a lot of school stuff on it that I was not wanting to have move around).
My question is:
From people who have experience with SSD installs, what are some things I should plan out ahead of time, what are some tips, and what are some common issues that might be encountered.
Thanks all.
