Need help Soloing Onyxia

As Blood? Well its very straightforward. I know that. I don't have a problem with that. I just can't seem to pull off enough DPS to get her down to 40%. Sure I can get Frost Fever on her. But then outside of Outbreak I can't get Plage Strike on her.

Did Blizzard fix it where melee could DPS if you were right below her?

Rolling blood and spam blood boil, it hits her if you are right under her.

Finally came back and got her down with no problems. I went blood and spammed Ice Frost and Death Coil. Worked like a charm. Took me 5 mins and 20 seconds.

Would have probably gotten her down a bit quicker with better gear and by reforging, enchants, gems, potions, flasks.

Well hopefully next week, I can give 25M a shot. Should get some better gear in the mean time.

P.S All those wondering if the mount dropped. Nope it did not

No they didn't... I've only tried it on my Ret Paladin... I have no problem with her.

Just pop all you're dps cooldowns as frost when P2 is just about to start, pop a speed boost (engi-belt enchant if you have) and nuke her. works perfectly fine for me. she flies up and over to the other side and flies down immediately

dont know if someone mentioned it, but you should make the way from ony to the entrance the longest possible, so you can dps her longer. And pop CDs there of course

Pretty easy as a frost dk - just pop Cds right while she walks to the entrance to get up in the air (~70% health, if i remember correctly) - normally i deal enough dmg to get hear down on earth right after she started - no air phase (~40% hp)

By spamming blood boil, diseases and death coils.

Lay all of your cool-downs into her at 70% to reduce the amount of time she spends in the air. You can probably get her down to 50% before you have to rely on diseases and death coil to bring the boss to 40% to trigger the final phase.

Eh I dont understand what the problem is, I went solo onyxia as newly dinged rogue and I forgot to spec shruken toss. So I was using basic throw on onyxia while fighting off the adds, it took a while but it doesnt matter because there's no enrage. You really shouldn't have a problem killing her, just dot and coil.

the problem is that DKs don't have many ranged attacks, and onyxia flies.

Icy Touch, Death Coil, Death Siphon, Bloodboil, D&D, Howling Blast can all hit her in the air. Learn your toolkit, makes life so much easier.

So I picked a few LFR pieces earlier today and thought I'd start soloing a few raids. I hit a couple TBC and had no problems.

However, thought I would hit Onyxia's Lair - 10M before I called it a night. I went in as Blood and I had no problem holding my own.

However, I just couldn't do enough damage to get her down at her second pahse. I didn't even die, after spending a good few minutes I just gave up, disconnected relogged.

This time I went in as DW Frost. I was ok for most of the fight. I kept spamming howling blast while she was in the air during the second phase. I DPSed the adds pretty quickly. However, when she landed for 3rd phase, I couldn't handle the damage from her and the adds. I wiped on 2%.

Now from what I've been told and read, is that you can actually DPS her as melee if you are right under her. However, I couldn't even do that.

Can someone please help me out and tell me what I should be doing?

P.S Soloing a couple of these old world raids, I've noticed that I keept missing. Sure my Hit/Dodge/ and the other stats may not be at cap, but isn't that for level 93 bosses?

There's your mistake. You will do enough damage, it just takes a while.
As a Blood Death Knight you should have no problem, however the air phase is going to take some times given that you will mostly dps her though your diseases. Just make sure you have a 100% uptime.
Also you do not need to have tank gear, you can solo here with dps gear as Blood, at lvl85 I was able to solo her so you should have no problem.

I do this on my 85 DK and it takes less than 3 minutes to get her back down. Dancing Rune Weapon, Blood Boil, Death Siphon, Death Coil and Diseases took her down in no time.

Death Siphon really helps to get her down if you don't wanna wait for BB to wiggle her down.

Its entirely possible to go in and actually burst her down to the last phase before she even takes off. However there are a few tips to help you if she does take off.

I've even done the fight as Unholy... One thing i have noticed though, is pets will stick to her and attack her still, it happened with Xuen on my Monk, and my pet as Unholy.. im wondering if you could use AotD to actually bring her hp down more during the flight part.

For Blood too... use Roiling Blood with the Pestilence Glyph, and stay underneath her when you are in the flight phase, so that every time your Crimson Scourge procs, then your diseases should refresh on her too.. You could also add things like Death Coil and Death Siphon(talented ofcourse).

Use dps based gear (high haste/mastery/strength) and get hit/exp caps (soft cap atleast) IMO. I queue LFR as dps simply because most the dps based gear is better than tank gear for soloing/easier content (dodge/parry seems fairly weak overall). The new shadowpan trinket is a pretty awesome overall trinket, high exp and a large str proc (which also gives a decent chunk of parry)

As for soloing old stuff, sometimes it will take abit to work out the best strat, but if in doubt check youtube for minonelol or Ragwyn videos they should help alot with strategies.

When I'm having a shot at her, I get her low enough for her to fly up, fly to the other end of the room and land again. No stress at all. (Rogue btw.)

i soloed ony @ 60 on my pally wen it was current content then i soloed her at 80 on my pally then agian at 90 i just burn her as fast as i can and spam ES and judge till she lands if she even gets off the ground

Phase 1: Tank and Spank

Phase 2: Spam Icy Touch, Death Coil, Blood Boil and Death and Decay. If you want to get your Plague Strike's disease (forget the name) just wait for an add to appear, hit them with Plague Strike then Pestilence/BB (if talented for Roiling Blood) while under Ony. Takes about 3 minutes.

Phase 3: Tank and Spank - Fear edition.
