5.4 BiS List?

Haste and mastery will continue to take precedent over crit at least for affliction, as even with minimal amounts the 2-set bonus has a fairly high uptime.

Over on icy-veins Zagam has compiled a list of gear that drops in SoO and has highlighted which items are preferential for a haste/mastery heavy set up.

As far as BiS list goes, with the emergence of thunderforged etc, it kinda depends on what you get, especially on 10 man.

BiS isn't relevant atm. People get too caught up in them, and pass on upgrades waiting on BiS items. Take your upgrades. You're going to have alot of time to run SoO.

It's going to be the same thing as ToT with TF gear. If you are able to get HTF gear with desirable stats it will trump the tier pieces because of low-value set bonuses.

There's no point in compiling any type of BiS list because of that.

You're probably only going to be using 4pc as destro even though I don't know why you'd ever spec destruction for progression the way it stands on ptr currently

Shouldn't we fully understand the itemization goals of the new specs a bit better before trying to BiS things? I completely agree with Woz's statement. Safe to say aff wants haste/mastery. Knowing that is it really that hard to put together your own list looking through a loot table? The amp trinket is a no brainer with possibly HTF/HC wush holding bis through normal modes. Even with minimal crit you see very high uptime on the T16 bonus so I feel safe ignoring the stat as much as possible.

Demo and destro are a bit more murky so far. We will hopefully see a bit cleaner evolution in the next few days or weeks. If 5.4 hit tomorrow I'd guesstimate its 8097 haste > crit > mastery > haste or just crit > mastery > haste for demo. With some crit offpieces and going full crit we could hit 40-45% crit raid buffed in normal gear. Destro I've no idea but with the LMG GCD capping incinerate super easy I wouldn't go much above the 8K haste mark. Maybe a crit > mast > haste? Again too early to tell. Demo has synergy issues with cleave/multistrike trinkets not working off pet/guardian dmg but destro is fine with either.

Mastery for destro is going to be weaker than it is on live because the fights in siege are not very much like throne. There are significantly less sources for consistent ember regen in the encounters compared to ToT so you're not going to be using spells that benefit from the mastery as frequently.

I'll be going T15 head+shoulders, Ra-Den chest/legs and T16 gloves+chest/legs and then just grab everything that's a big upgrade for me item level wise. Probably dropping T15 2p when I can replace it with normal warforged or heroic items. "BiS" isn't very interesting in the final raiding tier of an expansion. At least not for me.
