I got you! You got baited by my cookies promise and opened this awesome thread. Now you can't leave like that, you need to help me.
So our shadow priest is struggling. Like hard. He knows it and is pretty frustrated, trying to figure out what's wrong, but can't seem to figure it out.
Would you oh dark clerics of darkness be kind enough to throw a glance at our last raid's logs and maybe give me some feedback and pointers on what he should do differently/better?

(Spider and Cenarius were progress for us, first time there and got them down, so take that also into consideration not knowing the ins and outs of the fights and whatnot)

For ilgynoth he used s2m for 7 seconds...should have used legacy.

In the spider pig he used s2m and pi together then die 60 seconds later, didnt swd sniped the spiders from p1.

Overall he need to get better trinkets and practice his s2m uptime and cast more mind blast and void bolts.

Add a bad uptime on both SWP and VT

Ok.

One huge problem is that he needs to get better uptime on his dots. Also i'm noticing that he can improve his burst. Tell him to not pop his CDs at the start of the fight. Instead make him wait untill the first voidform then pop everything. He should still have the effect of BL and get a huge dps increase with VF, PI and MB going off at the same time. That would improve his burst alot, since right now he is only bursting around 200k (which he can go way above assuming he waits for the first VF).
Another slight dps increase is to use pots (Legion pots, not Draenor ones). Even after the nerf to them they still do alot of damage.

Same principle with S2M. Tell him to not use PI at the start of it, instead tell him to use it when he is feeling he cant sustain S2M for much longer. That way he can push his S2M abit longer and maybe even get to another Void Torrent for huge damage, all while the dots keep ramping up.

So basicly.
More uptime on dots.
Think about when he uses his cooldowns.
Work on S2M rotation.
Better pots.

Does shadow still stack haste the most? My haste is only at 21% and im doing about 150k dps would that be the reason?

I would say yes. Haste to us is what crit is for fire mages. More haste = longer time in VF = more stacks of lingering insanity = faster voidform. So it all comes around. Your dots also tick faster from haste and since VT and SWP are your main damaging spells over a long fight, you want them to do as much damage as possible.
