Also do not forget that the PTR changes (if they were implementd as they are right now) will take effect in the tomb of sargeras which is a different raid than the nighthold.
what I mean by this is that they are changing the spec to how it should work in the next raid, based on how it is performing NOW not after those changes, and without taking consideration for some factors that contribute to the things that are adding to this kinda playstyle (T19 bnouses / amount of adds on NH bosses).
And yea I agree, affliction topped due to abug which ia now fixed.. it is decent and performs well (and it should, cosidering it was garbage in raids on release ), but not OP as some might say.
Meanwhile they haven't touched fury warrior, havoc demonhunters barely received a nerf of about 1.8%, and frost mages are flying under the radar.
Thermal Void was hardly what was making frost mages retarded. They still put out ridiculous ST DPS for how much cleave/aoe they do.
They do assassination rogue single target but with aoe and cleave to boot.
They also happen to deal their damage in burst like the downside of dot classes that are assassination/affliction/demo, which makes mages infinitely better for priority add damage.
Fucking Ice Lance is hitting harder than a chaos bolt, and it's an instant cast spell.
That's not "average" aoe. Are you illiterate? It's not a shitty legendary in aoe situations in the least. If you want to know what mediocre aoe is, play demo. It's still way more aoe than an assassination rogue or destruction lock has despite being a top ST DPS spec with the top 2 damage sources being instant casts.

Again, you really do not spec frost for the aoe, ever, and unless you only had the belt and no good legendaries you wouldn't even use it as it's not worth it. You still use blizzard though, but mostly for it reducing frost orb cooldown more so than it's damage. Not sure why you're even trying to argue here, frost is a really good spec and probably will be even after the nerf(just like affliction will still stay good looking at current changes) but it's used for single target and cleave, not aoe. Saying frost mages have good aoe is like saying shadowpriests have good aoe.
