    Old god confirmed! (?)

went into the old kingdom on my alt and noticed something different with the faceless dudes, their models were pretty high res.

    New model

    Old model

I may be talking out of my ass now, since i have not played the beta, but nowhere have i found any youtuber talk about the faceless ones being in the BFA at this moment.

    Its worth mentioning this tho!

They've been updating A LOT of old models. I think they're just trying to slowly overhaul the entire game to bring it up to the same standard. They really need to work on the old worlds trees, grass, ground textures and stuff though.

We're definitely gonna see a lot of Old God related stuff in this Expansion... especially since we know that the 2nd Tier 1 raid is gonna be centered around Azshara.

However, Blizzard has also been updating old models that won't Play any role in BfA... They did the same thing in Legion such as updating wendigos, troggs etc

There are a ton of Old God influences in BfA. The fanatic sea priests on Kul'Tiras for example or the most obvious one:

Zek'voz, Herald of N'zoth (4th boss in Uldir)
Shortly after the Sundering, a dark messenger arrived on the fresh shores of Zandalar, intending to bring the newly isolated tribe into the service of N'Zoth. Zek'voz was prepared to entice, bribe, cajole, corrupt, or simply kill them, but he was not prepared to encounter the defenses of Uldir. He was captured, studied, disassembled, and stored in the Titans' Archives, where he has waited for a chance to escape.

N'zoth will be the end raid boss for sure. Azshara will be the mid expansion big boss but the end boss has to be old god.

It's pretty obvious where the expansion is going, Battle for Azeroth is a clever name that will come to mean our battle to save Azeroth from Old God corruption rather than battling over it HvA style like most assume.

Here's how it's probably going to play out:

First Tier - Uldir, setting up some Old God lore and the Titans experimentation on them, outer story just AvH stuff as we battle over the new continents.

Second Tier - Azshara makes her move, attacking both Kul'Tiras and Zandalar. Nazjatar as a new world questing/story zone similar to Broken Shore/Argus. We kill Azshara in the new raid but before she dies she manages to break the final chains binding her master to his prison. N'zoth the Corrupter returns to the world.

Third Tier - Major corruption events all over Azeroth (similar to Legion invasions) as the Old God spreads his influence over the world. New raid to finally defeat him (though maybe not entirely - set up for full Void expansion after BfA?). Maybe new World Questing/Story zone (Ny'alotha? Still not convinced this is a real physical place, but could be wrong). Expansion ends with us finally stabilizing our World Soul, she might even be strong enough to fully manifest from her nascent form to help us in the following war against the Void.
Your persistence of vision does not come without great sacrifice. Let go of the tangible mass of your mind, it is only an illusion. There is no escape.. For the soul burns on everlasting encapsulated within infinite time. A thousand year journey at the blink of an eye... Humanity is dust..

There are several Old God minions (faceless/naga/etc.) scattered throughout the leveling experience.

Really hope we don't kill N'zoth off in this expac.
When in doubt, simply ask yourself: "What would Garrosh do?"

Slight correction. We've been told that Aszhara fills the role of Gul'dan this expansion. So it's more gonna be like:

    1st tier: Uldir+Aszhara raid

    2nd raid

    3rd raid

Could be, but could also just mean she fills the same character archetype, being the powerful pawn of the greater power. Gul'dan was the herald of the Legion, Aszhara is the herald of the Old Gods.

Since the typical tier sets are a thing of the past, there's also no reason to assume Uldir isn't the full first-tier raid. EN was obvious, because it didn't include a set, but that doesn't apply here. Uldir is also much bigger than a usual small entry raid would be.

Ion has stated multiple times that they really liked the model for raid releases in Legion and that BFA would be much the same. Uldir is also only 8 bosses, it's one more boss than EN and Highmaul, hardly "much bigger".

Like I said, totally possible, I just don't agree. I think they're shifting the end game focus away from putting all their effort into raids and Uldir shows that.

There could be no 3rd tier like it was in WoD which would make BfA basically the introduction of a lengthier follow up expansion themed around N'zoth / Old Gods (which I prefer at the moment because gameplay-wise BfA isn't offering fresh ideas or something interesting at all).

I really don't think we're going Void next.

It's rather BfA -> Old God (maybe Black Empire related) -> Void imho.

I still hope we don't kill Azshara when we encounter her first. I imagine something like this: we face her in the second BfA raid as the end boss in her "normal" form, when we are about to kill her she retreats and infuses herself with even more Old God powers or she does some weird sh*t and we fight her later on in a brand new Old God style raid during which she'll break N'zoth's shackles and sets him free, moments before she dies. That's then the interlude for the next expansion.

If you did the highmountain tauren questline they basically told you that the legion was done and weak and we are not prepared for whats coming next. Can't remember the exact words since i did it on day 1 of being able to do it.

Have you literally been off internet for the last year or something? Yeah, BfA is an Old God expansion.

You are. The entire first raid is old god based. Also the at least 3 of the zones mention or have old god minions.
