Hi guys a have a few question, i just bought the Asus VivoBook S512DA-BR097T AMD Ryzen R5 3500U/8GB/256GB SSD/15.6 for my GF cuz her laptop MB died.
So i would like to install the HDD on the new for just for storage space i was checking and saw that in some models it's possible to open and install a extra disk but i could not find this model.
Also i would like to add 8gb ram since its a 2400 clock speed can anyone advice some good models i can get?
Tks for those that are willing to help.

Merry X-mas and a Happy New Year.

It looks like there is a spot in the chassis for a HDD but I'm not sure if there's a connector for it. Looks like the board got 1 DIMM slot with half of the memory soldered to the board.

The laptop seems to be quite new and very region-specific so I'd just contact ASUS if I were you. You could possibly find spare parts & technical documentation for it with the serial number from ASUS' support center.

From what i saw i bealive that the connnector comes on the box i have to check it out today since she just open the other day. I will have to open and look cuz i saw a video from the same laptop but was a different model since it was Intel.
As for the RAM yes you are correct from what i read on the description 4 on the board and 4 on the slot but with one slot to upgrade so i would like to know any good brand to use since i dont touch much in laptops.

OEMs are you best bet. So Samsung/Crucial, Crucial is a brand of Micron.

    https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-PC4-1...71A5244CB0-CRC

So basically you're looking at SODIMM (that's a form factor, SODIMM is notebook memory), DDR4 2400MHz (that's standard and speed, this board could support faster memory but it's new and I have no idea what kind of memory it works with), non-ECC (no error correction, that's a server feature mostly), 8GB capacity (16GB sticks are not supported apparently). Timings dont matter, obviously memory validated for tighter timings is gonna be more expensive. I think all SODIMM DDR4 comes in 1.2V stock.
