He would have lost nothing letting them turn into the undead before purging the city. He would then have the full support of his own army and friends, and perhaps been able to resist falling into the trap.
Mother pus bucket!
in the face of societal collapse, yes it is the right thing to do.
it is a bad decision, and i'd not want to be the one to help carry it out. but it's the needed decision.
the lack of hard decision making is what's lead to our current predicament with corona.
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
Obviously not. He never even considered finding another solution to the problem. Also he has no problem of killing the uninfected.
Also, Uther was his superior. Arthas has no say in any military matter concerning the Silver Hand, and none at all, due to being only the prince.
I am more interested in the kind of fuel he used to make a permanently-burning city. Or was Stratholme built over a massive coal mine?
Good think he killed those people and stopped the plague..oh wait...why is this in Gen-OT?
And no the coronavirus isnt anything close to a plague.

Have like 20 threads on this topic but here we go again.
At that point in the game the city had the infection grain aswell as members of the cult/malganis wandering around so it was doomed.
The population was sizeable enough so you couldn’t just let the go, sealing them in would just create as many problems later on.
Attempting to sort through the infected never works out, always gotta be a parent hiding their ill child or some infect douche lieing about how ill they truly are, plus the cult would no doubt sabotage such efforts.
If uther and Jaina hadn’t abandoned him maybe they coulda Purged the obvious infected and separate those seemed okay
arthas culled the wrong people. he should have culled the draenei instead.
r.i.p. alleria. 1997-2017. blizzard ruined alleria forever. blizz assassinated alleria's character and appearance.
i will never forgive you for this blizzard.
Imho it was the right choice. Evacuation would've taken too much time and they didn't have the manpower to hold out against the Scourge. So killing them was the only option, otherwise the Scourge would've gained a huge army that could've swept through the land.
Ultimately that's why the Culling of Stratholme is one of the most tragic events in Warcraft. There was simply no alternative that was "good". It was also a plan carefully devised by Ner'zhul and Mal'ganis to lure Arthas to the dark side.
The Void. A force of infinite hunger. Its whispers have broken the will of dragons... and lured even the titans' own children into madness. Sages and scholars fear the Void. But we understand a truth they do not. That the Void is a power to be harnessed... to be bent by a will strong enough to command it. The Void has shaped us... changed us. But you will become its master. Wield the shadows as a weapon to save our world... and defend the Alliance!
You sacrifice a few to save many, easy choice.
Do you hear the voices too?
It didn't work but it was still a good idea...
ok buds. /thumbs up
