Shadowlands Class Changes - Returning Class Abilities and Talents
Lots of abilities and talents are returning in the Shadowlands Pre-Expansion Patch. Iconic abilities include Auras for Paladins, Poisons for Rogues, Totems for Shamans, and Curses for Warlocks.

- Chains of Ice, Death and Decay, Death Coil, Raise Dead - Are now available to all Death Knight specializations
- Sacrificial Pact - Returns as a baseline ability for all Death Knight specializations (available at Level 54)
- Anti-Magic Zone and Lichborne - Changed to baseline abilities (previously PvP Talents)
Blood
- Ossuary - Changed to a baseline passive ability (previously a talent)
- Rune Tap - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
- Blood Tap - Returns as a talent
Frost
- Might of the Frozen Wastes - Frost Death Knights can now use Two-Handed Weapons
- Frostwyrm's Fury - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)

- Magus of the Dead - Added to Army of the Damned (previously an Azerite Trait)
Druids
General
- Barkskin, Ferocious Bite, Ironfur and Stampeding Roar - Are now available to all Druid specializations
- Heart of the Wild - Returns as a talent for all Druid specializations
- Cyclone - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a PvP talent)
Guardian
- Renewal - Added as a talent (now available to all Druid specializations)
Restoration
- Nature's Swiftness - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 58)
- Nourish - Changed to a talent (previously a PvP talent)
Hunters
General
- Arcane Shot, Eyes of the Beast, Hunter's Mark, Kill Shot, Scare Beast and Tranquilizing Shot - Return as baseline abilities for all Hunter specializations
Marksmanship
- Volley - Returns as a talent
Mages
General
- Arcane Explosion, Fire Blast, Frostbolt and Mirror Image - Are now available to all Mage specializations
- Focus Magic - Returns as a talent
Arcane
- Touch of the Magi - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
- Alter Time - Returns as a baseline ability
Fire
- Phoenix Flames - Returns as a baseline ability (previously an Artifact Trait)
- Alter Time - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 58)
Frost
- Alter Time - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 58)
Monks
General
- Expel Harm, Fortifying Brew, Spinning Crane Kick and Touch of Death - Are now available to all Monk specializations
Brewmaster
- Brewmaster Monks can now use two One-Handed Weapons
- Invoke Niuzao, the Black Ox - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
- Clash - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 54)
- Shuffle - Returns as a passive ability
- Exploding Keg - Returns as a talent
Windwalker
- Windwalker Monks can now use Two-Handed Weapons
- Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
Paladins
General
- Concentration Aura, Crusader Aura, Devotion Aura and Retribution Aura - Auras return and are now available to all Paladin specializations
- Blessing of Sacrifice, Hammer of Wrath, Shield of the Righteous and Word of Glory - Are now available to all Paladin specializations
- Divine Purpose, Holy Avenger and Seraphim - Are now available as talents to all Paladin specializations
- Sense Undead - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 54)
- Turn Evil - Returns as a baseline ability
Holy
- Glimmer of Light - Changed to a talent (previously an Azerite Power)
Retribution
- Wake of Ashes - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
- Empyrean Power - Changed to a talent (previously an Azerite Power)
Priests
General
- Desperate Prayer, Shadow Word: Death and Shadow Word: Pain - Are now available to all Priest specializations
- Mind Soothe - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 52)
- Power Infusion - Returns as a baseline ability (available at Level 58)
Discipline
- Mind Blast - Added as a baseline ability
Holy
- Circle of Healing - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
Shadow
- Devouring Plague - Returns as a baseline ability
Rogues
General
- Crippling Poison, Deadly Poison, Numbing Poison and Wound Poison - Poisons are now available to all Rogue specializations
- Evasion, Kidney Shot and Slice and Dice - Are now available to all Rogue specializations
- Shiv - Returns as a baseline ability
Assassination
- Ambush - Returns as a baseline ability
Subtlety
- Find Weakness - Changed to a baseline passive ability (previously a talent)
- Rupture - Returns as a baseline ability
Shamans
General
- Healing Stream Totem - Is now available to all Shaman specializations
- Chain Heal, Chain Lightning, Flame Shock, Flametongue Weapon, Frost Shock, Lightning Shield and Primal Strike - Are now available to all Shaman specializations
Enhancement
- Elemental Blast and Stormkeeper - Added as talents
- Maelstrom Weapon - Returns as a baseline passive ability
- Windfury Weapon - Returns as a baseline ability
- Fire Nova - Returns as a talent
Restoration
- Earth Shield - Changed to a baseline ability (previously a talent)
- Mana Tide Totem - Returns as a baseline ability
- Water Shield - Returns as a baseline ability
Warlocks
General
- Curse of Exhaustion, Curse of Tongues and Curse of Weakness - Curses return and are now available to all Warlock specializations
- Demonic Circle - Changed to baseline ability (previously a talent)
- Ritual of Doom - Is now available to all Warlock specializations
Warriors
General
- Execute, Hamstring, Ignore Pain, Shield Block, Shield Slam, Slam, Spell Reflection and Whirlwind - Are now available to all Warrior specializations
- Double Time and War Machine - Are now available as talents to all Warrior specializations
- Challenging Shout, Intervene and Shattering Throw - Return as baseline abilities
Arms
- Seismic Wave - Added to Dreadnaught (previously an Azerite Trait)
- Piercing Howl - Returns as a baseline ability
